Commercial For SeaWorld Florida's New Manta Ride

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=http:...?v=clVPiaRdr8c

SeaWorld's Manta coaster will be up and swimming come May of this year. Above is a commercial for the new ride. The imagery is quite startling. I'd say the thing will be more heavily themed than most coasters that are not Disney or Universal. Bet it will be all kinds of fun!

Re: Commercial For SeaWorld Florida's New Manta Ride

I'm looking forward to seeing what they do with it. It is supposed to have some really pretty rockwork and waterfalls, I've also heard the queue will be so impressive that they're going to have a very similar location that people who don't want to ride the coaster can go through as well.

I'm hoping that the coaster at least goes through one "show" building which is an aquarium so it feels like you're actually diving under water with the rays. The only thing that Sea World has built that wasn't at least pretty was Kraken. That's just a boring coaster to me, but it seems they're aiming higher with this. It's still just a coaster and won't match near the level of theming at Disney, but it looks like it may be at least as good with the theming as Dueling Dragons was at IOA.

Re: Commercial For SeaWorld Florida's New Manta Ride

Looks very cool. Dueling Dragons is good, but all the themeing is in the queue. The actual ride doesn't have much. It will be interesting to see what they do with the HP theme. I just hope the queue is still as awesome.

I can't wait to see what it looks like with the water and landscaping but judging by the track layout animation videos that I've seen on youtube, it's going to be one amazing ride! Something like SFMM's Tatsu but over water instead of a forest of trees. However, the pretzel loop occurs very early on in Manta which makes it a much more intense ride than the ad would seem to suggest!

The advertisement leads you to believe that the ride will be highly themed ..with the possibility of traveling through a living aquatic environment such as an aquarium building or tropical pool.

SeaWorld has a long history of incorporating lavish queues into their rides.

The ad only hints at the ride's intensity. Looks to be an extremely smooth ride, though.

Have you seen pictures of the interior queue construction? Certainly Disney quality themeing.

See post above. That is what the queue will be. It will house dozens of live aquariums, inside of a themed rock structure that looks pretty good.
