How about this odd dark ride from Parc Espana in Japan: Music Circus. The ride is an animatronic show, but then the seats drop a floor to some ride crazyness. Then it drops down again to watch a 3D movie (with stop motion) Then rises back up to the grand finale. The park has another dark ride featuring the parks mascots, animal version of the Don Quixote chracters and a ride system like Disney's Peter Pan. But I could find no videos of the ride, much to my sadness. I did find the other dark ride from Parc Espana:

![]() | Re: Lost Dark Rides: Tintin Rides at Walibi park in Belgium How about a dark ride from here in the USA. It's Holiday Worlds Gobbler Getaway. This interactive ride by Sally Corp has you use a Turkey Call to "shot" the targets. This version is very original, but like some other target dark rides it still lacks some animation unless you shoot the targets. I wonder how that could be fixed?

![]() | Re: Lost Dark Rides: Tintin Rides at Walibi park in Belgium From the office of Fake Disney DarkRides: Here is the Snow White train ride from Star City (Pasay, Manila Philippines). It's just a train going through a loop of simple decorations of the Disney version of Snow White. The cool part is that the scenes are done in Bass-Relief and look quite nice. Take a look: and While not a DarkRide here is the Star City Peter Pan walk-through that looks like the attractions at the Disney Parks. This ride, I think, is the Lion King boat ride. I can't really tell, but it looks like a boat ride with live actors dressed like Animals. Any guesses? It seems that maybe it has been replaced now, but I am not sure since I have never seen it before in person. Little Mermaid boat ride:

![]() | Re: Lost Dark Rides: Tintin Rides at Walibi park in Belgium Walibi Belgium was better under Six Flags . Right now the park is under control by CDA Compagnie des Alps which owns Parc Asterix and they are not good at Park Management . Parc Asterix this year there is a lack of Maintenance and other stuff . Just on Opening day they had more than 6 rides closed for the day for being under maintenance. My Question is : What the Off Season is made for ? |

![]() | Re: Lost Dark Rides: Tintin Rides at Walibi park in Belgium well Tonnerre de Zeus were closed for like 2 weeks now because they had to re track some part of the ride because of the wood Quality oh the Track . Then they also need to order new trains from PTC or whever to make the ride smoother than it is right now . i will not suggest to purchase the new Kumbak wooden coaster trains because they really really hurts . |

Why do you think they have never built an Astrix themed DarkRide? The new Mad House comes pretty close with theming, but you think it would be a no brainer. The boat ride is pretty neat, but it would be cooler as a ride like Splash Mountain or Pirates of the Caribbean or even like a fantasyland style dark ride.

![]() | Re: Lost Dark Rides: Tintin Rides at Walibi park in Belgium Fuji-Q Highland - Thomas the Tank Engine dark ride. I wish the figured had some more motion. Even just having the eyes move on some of them would help. But otherwise it looks pretty nice. Great see an attraction with a unique theme. What do you guys think?

![]() | Re: Lost Dark Rides: Tintin Rides at Walibi park in Belgium Here is the Germany Pavilion at Expo 2008 in Zaragoza, Spain. The ride vehicle might be the most comfortable with the boats being recliners on water ways. Around 3:48 you can see some buttons in the front of the 'boat'. I wonder if they could have a choice of languages and a volume knob. Looks pretty interesting.

Here is the concept art: and here it is mixed with photos of the ride. And some photos from Theme Park Review: Mirabilandia - Reset

![]() | Re: Lost Dark Rides: Tintin Rides at Walibi park in Belgium More about Walibi. I have had the good fortune to visit the park about maybe 15 years ago, and I do recall in addition of Tintin rides (the Jungle cruise and Pirates) that there was thousand and one nights styled indoor boat ride that was really the major dark ride of the park. It had a huge sea serpent close to the end that was really great looking (eyes rotating a bit in disney serpent style). However, I do not recall the name of the ride. I wonder if there is any surviving video of it? I presume it is no longer in operation. What I recall from Tintin ride, I wasn't too impressed with the jungle cruise clone as the whole area wasn't really in jungle to begin with (you could see huge wooden walls that surrounded the area from the ride). Secondly as stated, there wasn't that much happening. I remember highlight being some crocodiles "attacking" the boat. All I remember (at the moment) Tintin Pirate ride is the following: It begun with officers talking about some plan at the begining and ended with large scene with a huge boat if memory serves me well. I do however recall the 1001 nights ride quite well, in case anyone wants descriptions. If anyone could name it, or find some pictures/video, it would be great. |

![]() | Re: Lost Dark Rides: Tintin Rides at Walibi park in Belgium This is a great topic! I love dark rides. Another great old Sally Ride was their refurbishment of an old mine ride in Canobie Lake Park NH into the Mine of Lost Souls. But for those asking...the dark ride/coaster in Lotte World is Atlantis Adventure, the world's only Intamin Aquatrax. |

![]() | Re: Lost Dark Rides: Tintin Rides at Walibi park in Belgium I found a link, but it doesn't really show the ride at its glory at all. Ali Baba in Walibi Belgium - rides.nl The video looks a bit like people are walking where the flume was. There are some clear Ali Baba style props left and I think we see parts of the serpent at the end of the video, but without seeing the face, I cannot be certain. |
