Knott's Berry Farms Peek-ins return!

For all of you who feel Cedar Fair is completely destroying the park, here's some news that should give you a little bit of faith: they have completely rebuilt some of the classic peek-ins in Ghost Town. I don't have pics, but you can visit bear-ytales for pics & video!

They look great! If you didn't know the story, the original ones were suddenly and unexpectedly torn down a couple of months ago. Many people were cynical, but Knott's claimed they were becoming unsafe with wood-rot, and would be rebuilt. They are now proving to be good as their word, even restoring some minor animation!

Cedar Point should keep moving in this direction. Whatever took the place of the Peanuts Playhouse in Camp Snoopy after they bulldozed it?

Sadly, so far, essentially nothing. Juts a plot of land with some plants and fencing. There's an electrical shed of some kind, disguised with some Peanuts Cut outs, but it's now a very nondescript area. That one is a bummer, but I have heard unreliable rumors that they do want to put in some sort of family coaster in the area, so there may be some naive hope in the future..

And it's been discussed before, but Knott's really isn't interested in putting in a new dark ride. While it's a bummer, their reasoning is pretty understandable: with Disney's powerhouse classic dark rides down the street, they know they'll be compared, and they just don't have a budget to do it right. Would you spend millions on a dark ride just for 90% of people to say, "it's not as good as Disney?" Have you been on dark rides anywhere else in the country? The vast majority of them do look cheap compared to Disney, but we've become pretty spoiled here, and expectations would be high. It's not Cedar Fair's realm, and why try to challenge a giant when you can be successful in your own way?

The Timberline coaster is getting pretty long in the tooth. If Knott's ripped that out as well, they could use both the former Playhouse and Timberline area for a good kiddie coaster... and at least give it some Peanuts theme.

That's awesome! I don't seem to remember those being there before, but in different locations. Wasn't there shops there before they redid this area?

And does anyone remember a peek-in area behind the guy in the jail that talks to you? I remember there was like a long hallway and you walked through it and there was something in there. But it looks like this area is now closed off.

Well, right now, that's what people are saying about the park in general, so what do they have to lose?

Re: Knott's Berry Farms Peek-ins return!

As seen in the Sally Corp. thread, a good dark ride doesn't have to be mega-expensive, and making one based on Snoopy is just a no-brainer. And they could use one up where the old Dinosaurs/Beary-Tales was as well. One dark ride for kids, and another for adults would be a significant draw for the park.
And they could theme them both for Haunt... imagine a Snoopy Chainsaw Massacre...
