YAY! I loved looking at all the pictures. You took some really great ones. It seems everyone really puts alot of work into their costumes. I love some of the ladies hats. And baby Wyatt is just adorable. Even he got into the spirit of things. LOL

Thank you so much! All of us over here are happy that you've kept up with this long-winded, way too drawn out photo update! :-)

Re: Renaissance Pleasure Faire -- 2009 season

It's time for our last update -- at least for this trip report and this season. We're keeping this one with minimal text... partially because we're in the middle of working on Part 3 of our Faire video podcast, and partially because there's only one person who has made it this far!

WEEKEND 4 & 5, - April 25 & May 9, 2009

Well, at least the brakes work...

As we were nearing the end of the faire, Horse_Bunny and I decided to do something really nice for our friends at the Bell. We made candy -- Nipples of Venus to be precise -- and learned the hard way that it's fairly dangerous to server chocolate to whores...

From the initial presentation...

To the resulting madness...

So, we learned the following rules about whores at faire:
1) Don't ever get them wet.
2) Keep him away from bright light (outside of makeup, that is).
3) And the most important thing, the one thing you must never forget: no matter how much they cry, no matter how much they beg . . . never, never feed them chocolate.

Even without her makeup, my wife still tries to be the center of attention...

Well, I promised a lot of photos and not as much jabber, so here we go!

Chomp!

A mama and her baby.

So, for our final visit to Faire, we were scheduled to have an interview with Queen Elizabeth I, herself. I guess she would just be Queen Elizabeth then, though.... since there wasn't a second QE, and that means there was no reason to...

Oh no, I've gone cross eyed.

Ahem. But the interview was for the grand finale of the video podcast series that we were filming. While there, we chatted with the Yeomen, Wyatt got to meet his young nobleman friend from earlier in the season... and yes, we eventually got to meet the Queen.

Although it did end up with me getting in a bit of trouble. But you'll have to watch part 4 of the podcast to see what happened with that. Instead, here are a few behind-the-scenes photos from what was, sadly, our final visit to the Renaissance Pleasure Faire this year.

Obviously, the little one was not impressed by royalty. Meanwhile, I was just hoping he wouldn't see uber-expensive gown and think "now's a good time to turn into a formula-fountain." Luckily, no crisis materialized.

And with one final shot of an exhausted baby (with no hands... not sure what happened there!?!) and his mommy, we end our super-faire-trip-report-from-hades.

Thanks, everyone, for virtually joining us. Now, head over to the MicePod forum, where you can catch up on Part 1 and Part 2 of our video of this event (titled "Renaissance Rats") -- and where soon Parts 3 and 4 will be added.

(More photos -- yes, these were a select few -- can be found at HorseAndRabbit.com under the "Bodices and Biggins" section!)
