![]() | Re: DIY Imagineering links This I guess would be an honorable mention. The cast members in Tomorrowland dress up DL space mountain for Halloween. MintCrocodile says: Quote:
Sure it's simple, but they got to dress up Space Mountain, how cool is that?

![]() | Re: DIY Imagineering links What a fantastic idea for a thread! A some what cool imagineering link is Backyard Imagineering. Some of the stuff is pretty primative. As for getting into microcontrollers, a good place to start is Arduino. The sell pre-fab boards, with all the inputs and outputs you need. They generally range from $30-$60. The Decimillanueve (sp?) generally costs $30 dollars, but you can make it yourself for cheaper, as with all of Arduino's boards. This board has 6 inputs and 14 outputs. 6 of the outputs can be used for Pulse Width Modulation, a way of dimming lights using persistance of vision. Arduino's most expensive board, the Mega (generally costs about $60) has 12 inputs and 54 outputs, 14 of which can be used for PWM. You really should check out their webpage. They manufacture some pretty awesome little boards. You just hook them up to your computer via the USB port, upload some software in C (or C++) to it, and it runs! You can power it through the USB port, or a wall wart. Moving on, that Pepper's ghost illusion was amazing! I wonder if that was a player piano? That would have completely upped the wow factor. --KAN
