Re: Knott's Berry Farm on Twitter!

Elly pretty much covered everything but ill throw in my two cents. If you want to best position possible, camping out for new hire is the way to go. Plus, you get to meet a lot of cool people and most of them you will be working with. But you don't have to. If you go the day after there will be monster positions available and the lines will be shorter. I went the day after and was given a few different positions for about 5 mazes and the usual blackout and line control. When i went in for costuming a week or two later there was still monster positions available.

For hiring, Bring a application (saves time), I.D, Social security number, and a pen. You will take your application to their small office in the employment area. Once you turn it in you will be told to take a seat outside. After sometime, they will call your name along with a few other people and you will follow someone into their offices. They will ask you a few questions, you will sign a few things, they will show you the positions available and describe them to you and help you choose. Once you select your role, they will give you a few papers and a handbook and you go home. After a week or so, Knotts will call you and tell you your background check was finished and you may come in for costuming/fitting. The Costuming part is really quick and easy and is described in the handbook you receive.
Hopefully this help. If you do cross the veil, i hope to see you there!
P.S- It is A LOT of work but VERY fun. People take this very seriously but they have a passion to do it. You will meet so many awesome people and ill most likely be friends with them forever.
~69 days to go~

So all you prospective monsters, get out there and apply! Remember the positions are first come first served, so there is usually a camp out the night before for new hires in hopes of getting a "good" spot.

Good luck to you all and hope to see some of you this October during our annual trip!

Re: Knott's Berry Farm on Twitter!

just an update on camping out for new hire:

Knotts announced on their Twitter earlier today that camping out will not be allowed BEFORE 4am on the 10th. so be sure you follow this newly imposed rule, if you get there any earlier they may not let you stay on the sidewalk

i find this to be kind of a shame, its an unwritten tradition to have new hire campout, and i for one am sad to see it go by the wayside becuase i think it was a great way for rookies to get introduced to the Haunt Family subculture if there weren't on the fringes of it already

Re: Knott's Berry Farm on Twitter!

elly.. it is a shame that they are no allowing a campout..but you should have seen the mess that the monsters left behind once the employment gates open. There was serveral knotts employees yell out "If you were camping out.. and left trash.. you better go and pick it up NOW! that is why they dont want you camping out anymore". the sidewalk was covered in trash... it was disgusting.

shame on them for doing this, its that kind of lack of personal responsibility that has lost them the fun of the traditional campout, among other reasons i'm sure

on a side note, a couple of our fellow MiceChatters got some primo positions this year, and i'm very excited for them (Kritter and Poison).

What about you Lane? did you go today or are you going tomorrow? What maze did you get or did you audition for streets?
