 | Fried Food, Weirdness, and Carnies: Alameda County Fair 2009 Ventured out earlier this week to the Alameda County Fair (about 40 miles from San Francisco) as I hadn't been in a few years, to see what was what....  EAT FOODS. RAWR.   These were part of a display of homemade vinegars and cooking oils. There was also a homebrewing display.  Making up a song about Coraline!   Pie. But you cannot touch the pie.  Guinea pigs!   I am of the belief hissing cockroaches are cute. Feel free to discuss.   Black widow spider!  In the hobbies building, someone's collection of gargoyles...   Cute Tiki girl mug. Did want.   Haunted Mansion. Represent.  The exciting world of sugar-packet collecting.   Mmmm. Heat-lampy.  There's nothing in here but bees!  The wildly popular smiling-naked-lady garden statue. You're welcome, aashee.     The only one of the rickety deathtrap carnival rides I had any interest in experiencing.  Giant sexy zombie lady and creature from the black lagoon ripoff? It has to be good!    OK, so it was pretty much hilariously craptacular inside. Loud blaring noises, flat blacklight paintings of ghouls, and metal plates that flipped over with loud BANGS with Halloween masks on them. Amazingly, hysterically awful. The outside was actually better than the ride itself heh.    Hisssss! *makes snake fang motions*  And that's pretty much it...hope you enjoyed! It was something to do, alright....sure was....an experience. Heh.
