Smile Going Metro, Grauman's, and Guinea Pigs ... with a side of creatures.

This Sunday thrax, DisneyIPresume, and myself made the ultimate sacrifice and took time out of our day to go check out G-Force at the El Capitan in Hollywood.

Since traffic gets somewhat heavy around the Hollywood and Highland area we decided to park at Universal City and catch the Metro down to the El Capitan. While waiting thrax and I admired the tile work.

After a few minutes the train came by and we were off to our destination. At $1.25 one way it really beats the price of parking anywhere else in the Hollywood area.

Since we arrived at Hollywood and Highland early we decided to walk around and check out Grauman's Chinese theatre.

I was really here for the G-Force experience!

After acting like tourists and oogling at Grauman's and around Hollywood Blvd we slowly made our way to the El Capitan to get ready for G-Force!

Look at the excitement on their faces!!!

I always make it a point to get VIP seating every time I go to the El Capitan. It alleviates a lot of the hassle since it included a reserved seat, popcorn, drink and THE G-FORCE EXPERIENCE!!!

Another reason I enjoy going to the El Capitan every once in a while is their wonderful pre-show. This one is from last year when I went to go see Wall-E, but the beginning is always the same for all the movies. You get the organist playing some music, the anticipation builds up with the curtain rising ... and then you see your movie. With Wall-E we got a little show with some Disney Characters thrown in there.

After the movie we went across the street towards the Kodak Theatre to finally get a taste of the G-Force experience!

Chewbacca listening to his iPod

Almost there ...

And I'll leave it here for now. I'll go into the G-Force experience ... Ripley's Believe It or Not! Museum ... and Universal Studios tomorrow!!!

Ha! I never thought I'd see the Universal City Redline station in a trip report.

I think it's a special star given to Disneyland since it is right at the entrance to the Soda Fountain and Studio Store.

It's too much TR to post all at once ... so you'll have to be patient.

Stay with MiceChat long enough, and you're liable to see anything in a trip report..

Exclamation Re: Going Metro, Grauman's, and Guinea Pigs ... with a side of creatures.

So ... the adventure continues!

Once inside we were immediately surrounded by movie sets to our left and right.

This is the pet shop where the guinea pigs and mole end up.

The tubes where the G-Force team escapes.

The homes/training set up of the G-Force team.

The stars of the movie

The first area involved you inserting a bendable device through holes so that you could disarm it. Both thrax and I failed at that one ... here's thrax giving it a try though.

Next to that was a bug splat area. Here's DIP trying to smash some bugs!

And here's some video of thrax running around ...

There was also an obstacle course which thrax and I ran through. Sadly I accidentally deleted that video ... . Know that thrax beat me by a mile though ... there were zip lines ... tunnels to crawl through ... ropes to swing by ... and walls to jump over. Here's a picture I managed not to delete of a portion of the course.

Exercises were posted up in the queue for the obstacle course and I thought they were so cute!

After that there was a shooting gallery type area where you shot at evil electronic devices. Here's thrax saving the world!

Our skills with following Mooch the fly to decipher his message was next. You followed the guide on the map with a marker and it eventually gave you a picture. There were three in all.

There was also an area with coloring pages to keep the kiddies occupied.

Once we had jumped through all the hoops there was a final area where you were pictured in front of a green screen and the image placed in a movie scene.

Here's one of the images we got.

And finally we arrived at the end of the G-Force experience!

By this time we were guinea pigged out ... and HUNGRY! So we headed across the street to Mel's Drive In for some lunch.

BUT WAIT ... THERE'S MORE!!!!!

(which will be continued tomorrow ... )

It really was. The movie was entertaining, but I went in with no expectations ... being that it did revolve around secret agent guinea pigs. Overall it was an enjoyable day and well worth the trip down there.

I believe that this particular movie runs into early September, so if you're in the area and want to check it out you still have time.
