Day 3

Well the last week Honor_Bound and myself have been in Italy for our honeymoon. We had an amazing time exploring the sights. We took almost 1,000 photos. Don’t worry I won’t bore you guys with all of them. LOL! I am however planning on posting a bunch of them. So sit back, relax, and enjoy Rome through our camera lens.


Day 1

Before we could do anything we had to get some MONEY!!! Rome take the Euro. As our trip got closer and closer the US Dollar kept going down and down. I was really not happy about that but there was nothing we could do about it.



Once we had our money in hand we hit the airport. Our first flight left at 6:00 AM and was bound for LAX. Not bad, but thrilled we did it this way since my new husband Honor_Bound had never flown before. Our next flight was to Washington, D.C. This flight was also not bad. Then was our killer flight, Washington D.C. to Rome, Italy. OMG that flight was long. But we entertained ourselves by enjoying the sights and our on board entertainment.





When we finally landed we made our way through the Fumancino airport and found the shuttle to our hotel. At that point we were very slap happy.



When we got to the hotel we weren’t able to check-in since it was only 11:30 AM. So we decided to have some sandwiches and sodas.



Once we were able to get into the room we passed out until the next day.

Day 2, Part 1

After a VERY long first day we woke up early and pretty quickly hit our first road block of the day. The Tabbachi (Tobacco Store) was supposed to open at 7:00 AM and didn’t open till almost 8:30. We needed to buy transportation tickets. So we just sat in the lobby waiting for it to open and decided to take some pictures.







Once we got our tickets for the bus we made our way to the central station also known as the Termini Station. Then we started the great hunt for the Tourist Information desk so we could buy our Roma Passes. (If anyone goes to Rome these are a MUST!!! They include a decent map, 3 days of unlimited transportation, entrance to 2 museums, and discounts to all other museums during the 3 days) After walking up and down the Termini Station for almost an hour we finally found the sign we were looking for.



Once we had our passes we headed to the Colosseum where we hit our next big road block of the day. The staff at both the Colosseum and the Roman Forum were having a staff meeting and would not open until 2:00 PM. So we decided to sit and have some lunch and get some pics.



Watch out for these guys. We found out a bit late, but each picture they take of you will run you €5. They managed to get €10 from us.
























After lunch we were still almost 4 hours away from opening so we decided to walk around and headed towards Capital Hill. Along the way we saw some of the Roman Forum and a very small and hidden Basilica with an AMAZING nativity scene in it.





















Unfortunately there was no light at all inside the Nativity Scene other than the light the scene emitted. So instead of taking a bunch of blurry photos I went ahead and took a video.

Next stop was the Capital Hill and the Capital Hill Museum.

We went to the Vatican a few days including on that Sunday to witness Pope Benedicts noon blessing. I managed to get some video of that. That will all be coming up soon though. Well hopefully. I have a ton of pics to upload.
