USH report, Wednesday 11/30

Did USH to wrap up our trip.

No crowds. Walk-on all rides. In fact, they had a Mummy special. Two rides for one entry. When you finished up your first ride, you just stayed on for another spin!

That's a new one for us...

Jurassic Park seems to have been de-tuned, so you don't get wet. We went on it three times and barely got a few drops on us. That is a good thing this time of year.

The Tram was quick, since we didn't get to Kong (Crossing Jordan shooting), the Flood (under repair), no more bridge (it was still there, though), the Greens Dept road w/JP props (unk why, unless they couldn't due to the flood repairs...same road), no court of miracles, no Princess Diaries/Scorpion King loop, "Wisteria" Lane still closed for shooting the women. No, not much.

Only saw Beetlejuice, SpongeBob, Dora and Shrek/Fiona for photo's.

Not much Christmas type decorations. We do miss the "Million lights display" of years gone by...

At least we have AP's so the day didn't cost us anything but a little food.

For USH's sake, I hope things get better for them this spring. We'll see.

Sorry I just noticed this post.
When I was there in November, we went on the Mummy also and rode it about 6 times.

I couldn't believe how many things on the Tram tour we missed as well some of the scenes you described also were closed then too. And yes the Falling Ford Exploder in Jurrasic wasn't working for us either. And we didnt get wet hardly at all. Glad to hear your trip went well.

A "renewed" KK would be nice, but I think it was due more to the shooting of Crossing Jordan on the street in which the entrance and exit for KK is on.

It sure is sad to see the demise of this Park. We have enjoyed it immensly over the years. We thought that NBC would bring it back to life...

I think the parks are the absolute last reason why NBC bought Universal. They could care less I'm sure. Especially USH.

Wow I was there the day before and my trip was much different! I got wet on Jurassic Park (messed up my hair too.. *sob*), had to wait an hour or more for The Mummy (and only got to ride once), the studio tour had everything but the flood scene, and Terminator was down a couple hours (I saw the last showing). All in all not too bad of a day considering it was my first time doing much of those things (and my first time without parentals there) plus my AP was free (they sent it to me!).

I have to agree with the earlier posts that it is pretty depressing going to Universal, even if it is using a cheap (for me) or free (for my wife) AP. I remember comparing their Christmas parade from last year unfavorably to Disney's parades, but the complete absence of one makes for an even more unfavorable comparison. When they have to list the two-year-old Mummy ride as "what's new" on the board, that's pretty depressing. Of course the studio tour is always hit-or-miss depending on what filming is going on at that time, but NBC's neglect of this park is hard to miss.
