Crowds at Knotts

We are planning on going to knots next weekend, taking advantage of their Toys for Tots program (bring in a toy valued at $10 or more and get in free).

How are the crowds usually for this type of an event?

Thanks!

Re: Crowds at Knotts

Knott's was extremely crowded last weekend, probably more crowded that it was at any time during the summer.

Re: Crowds at Knotts

We were there last saturday. Took advantage of the Law Enforcement freebie's to get in.

Actually, we didn't think that it was too bad. It helped though, that we had the GAP, so getting on the rides was easy enough.

We did notice a HUGE/LONG line for the chicken restaurant as we were leaving. We went to Po'Folks instead...

We enjoyed the day.

We were there Saturday too, but not until around 2:00. I guess we got used to stolling on to all of the rides without a wait during the summer.

After reading other posts about Po'Folks, I tried to get my family to try it, but they wanted Fuddruckers instead.

What's the GAP????

But yeah ... it's Toys for Tots, Law Enforcement days, County Welfare workers days and I think one more.

We were going to go tomorrow to check out the crafts fair and get some more use out of our AP's ... but it's not worth it.

We were there last Sunday, and it wasn't crowded at all. It wasn't completely empty, but there certainly weren't throngs of people. We were joking about the crowds at Disneyland that we'd heard about and suggested that if anyone wanted to go somewhere deserted, go to Knott's. We got there at about noon, and I was surprised to see that there was no line at all for Mrs. Knott's. I'm not a fan of the place, but I'm used to always seeing a line there, and for me, the lack of a line was a good precursor indication of how uncrowded the park itself was.

I guess next time we are going on a Sunday. On Saturday even the carry out line for Mrs. Knott's was out the door.

This weekend, and the next two, be prepared for LARGE crowds both Saturdays and Sundays, due to the Toys for Tots toy drive.

Re: Crowds at Knotts

Last year my husband and I took advantage of the TfT drive at Knott's. Used the evening as a date night. We waited forever for Ghostrider, walked around Ghost Town and that was about it for the night. Still had fun, though. Knott's at night during the Holidays is very romantic.

Re: Crowds at Knotts

We went on Friday, totally dead. Everything was a walk on. Saturday was pretty busy. We only went for like an hour, the guys rode Jaguar, it had about a 30 min wait. Silver Bullet looked like its wait was longer, but since I am not all that familiar with how Knotts runs, it may not have been that bad. We were going to go in for a couple of hours this morning, but at 9 (the park opens at 10) the crowd forming was huge. Most people had toys with them. One woman was trying to figure out the closest place to get a toy so she and the 3 girls with her could get in free. We took one look at the crowd and gave her our 2 last tickets and we headed home.

Re: Crowds at Knotts

I might be going next Sunday. I haven't been to Knotts in forever and I want to go on new rides.. getting tired of DL stuff. The crowds can't be that bad compared to the DL crowds I face weekly. Anyone know if Knotts has the same wheelchair policy as DL? (Wheelchairs wait in a separate usually shorter line)

Re: Crowds at Knotts

Hah, today Knott's was crazy, just like Disneyland, every show we went to was full (we didn't ride anything because of the crowds!)

Knott's requires any guest that needs special assistance to get a pass (including wheelchairs), just stop by Guest Relations to the left of the Mian Entrance (after entering the park). The pass works like a FASTPASS, in that on busy days, the Knott's employee will mark the pass ( to prevent multiple back to back rides), and either board you shortly, or give you a return time to come back.

When my girlfriend has needed a wheelchair, sometimes you get a shorter wait, sometimes the wait is about the same, and for some popular rides, the wait is longer than the regular line.

Re: Crowds at Knotts

We used the assistance pass at Knott's when we were there two saturdays ago. No questions asked when we requested it. We were actually surprised that on each ride, we were not held up for three or four cycles (or longer) of the ride before being put on. We were either put on the next turn or the one after that. No waiting. Seemed to work well that way too. No lines for assistant pass folks. The CM's did write the time down on the back of the pass so we wouldn't do it again for the next hour, but that's OK, we didn't ride anything twice anyway, and we understand why they do that.

We were very pleased with the assistance pass experience at Knott's.
