A horse named Phillip

In the new Chronicles of Narnia film, there is a short scene where Peter is told his horse's name is Phillip. Have you noticed that in almost every Disney film, the horse (or one of the horses) is named Phillip.

Anyone know (or care to speculate) why?

Re: A horse named Phillip

Uh I can think of no other Disney film where the horse is named Phillip.

In Sleeping Beauty, his name is Phillipe.

Re: A horse named Phillip

Vic had a memory of horses named Phillip. Of course, the prince is Phillip in Sleeping Beauty. (not the horse) so that may have confused the issue.

The name Philip orginiates from Greek, "horse lover".

Re: A horse named Phillip

Other than Horrace Horsecollar.. the following Disney animated films had named horses in it.

Mr Toad - Cyril Proudbottom

Cinderella (She addresses the horse when she is feeding the animals in the beginning of the film.. but I can't remember the name)

Sleeping Beauty - Prince Philip addresses the horse when he hears Briar Rose singing, but I can't remember the name here either.

The Aristocats - Madam Frou-Frou.

Beauty and the Beast - Philippe

Hercules - Pegasus

Mulan - Can't remember the name here either

Home on the Range - Can't remember the name here either.

Isn't the horse in Home on the Range Buck? And I think the horse in Mulan may be called Khan, though I'm not exactly sure.

Re: A horse named Phillip

Uh, yeah, I messed that up. The horse in Sleeping Beauty's name is Sampson. And the prince is Prince Philip.
