Knoebels bringing back a classic

Most of you must have never heard of Knoebels. What is it? Its a small amusement park in the middle of the Pennsylvania, a good hour away from the closest interstate. They have a unique campground and classic and new rides. They have 2 unbelievable wooden rollercoasters, a classic, very scary dark ride among their many rides. The pricing works that its either coupons (you buy coupons worth a certain $ amount and give them at the attraction...), so a wooden coaster ride is either 1,80$ or 2,20$ or during weekdays, a wristband and stamp combo for 1 price admission to all rides EXCEPT the sky ride and dark ride (the dark ride cars don't have restraints and not allowing easy rerides simply avoid vandalism to the ride).

What's interesting is that they just broke ground on something called "The Flying Turns". Anyone remember the old Sarajevo Bobsleds from SFMM? Well, imagine a trains of little cars going around a wooden trough. The modern bobsleds are made of steel and are tame family rides. the flying turns were tight, intense thrill rides! The last one to operate in the USA closed in 1968. Now, Knoebels must have rediscovered plans, etc. and they're building one... the old way!

Here's a link to what the Knoebels Flying Turns will be inspired from:

PS. Copy the whole link with .jpg in your address bar for it to work.

Re: Knoebels bringing back a classic

We went to Knoebels in September and absolutely loved it. I'm so excited they are bringing back the Flying Turns. We are going to try and get back there this year, but who knows.
