Re: Marineland Makes Way for Resort

That's so funny, a bunch of us were talking about Marineland the other day and why it hasn't been made into anything else yet.

Guess we have our answer.

I live about half a mile away from old marineland, I love exploring around there. My dad used to feed the fish there when he was a teen

Very sad. I loved that place. I still remember some of the shows. Wish it was Sea World that closed instead.

I hate it when they tear down something nostalgic for some yuppy resort. Owell guess its going to waste as it sits now anyway.

Re: Marineland Makes Way for Resort

I only went to Marineland once when I was a kid. I snorkled for the first time there. That's all I really remember about it, though.

We used to photograph weddings at the Catalina Room until it closed last May to make room for the new resort. It was right next to the old Marineland site. It's been sitting for so long, I'm surprised it's taken this long to get construction going. It was funny to look out during a wedding & see the wild goats on top of the old tanks, though.

^the baja reef was totally cool, you could swim in that reef with all those fish, I thought it was the coolest thing when I was a teenager.
