Sea World San Antonio To Get Atlantis??

San Diego, remember what you were Suppose to get before city council made it change to what it is now?? I'm betting they drew the plans up again, this time for the San Antonio park..... Screamscape shows many teaser posters around a construction area... and both of us look at it.. and think ATLANTIS....

Anyone in the local area of that park know more?

I think the teasers are pretty concurrent for Atlantis.

Now I know San Diego gave SeaWorld all sorts of hell while trying to build Atlantis...but what was it supposed to be (besides closer to Floridas)?

Nope, the only fight was over the height of the building and eventually SeaWorld got its way. The ride we see now is just because of budget cuts on SeaWorlds part.

Actualy he was correct. For example the city had the "South Tower" remain an open structure to "reduce visual body mass" and there by removing said themeing.

Actually he wasn't, the only thing the city council was able to do was to was to move the location from being right on the bay to closer to the parking lot. Plus dark ride portions could have been made on the ground level. The San DIego version with its exposed coaster track is much more of an eyesore than the orlando version (I drive past it everyday). It was just budget cuts. The Final version doesn't even have all the features that were in the model for it.

Well.... fighting a city is not cheap.... perhaps they did have to cut back... or when they changed the lication... other enviromentalists had to change plans.. didn't they have a problem during the early phase of construction with something coming from the relcimed land??

I think the environmentalists said the land was a former toxic dump and SeaWorld was with holding information, but they were getting desperate at that point.

Well the last attendance figure I could find for San Antonio was 2003 and they recieved 1.7 million guests. San Diego gets over 4 million and Orlando gets over 5 million, so whatever San Antonio gets probably wont be too expensive to build.
