Mt Olympus Water & Theme Park

Anyone been to this place? It's in the Wisconsin Dells. It looks like your typical water/amusement park but it's themed to Mt Olympus & the Greek gods. They have outdoor & indoor areas for both the theme park and the water park. They even have an underwater go kart track and an underground rollercoaster.

Why didn't they have stuff like this at the Dells when I visited there as a kid in the 80's? Yeah they had some kistchy amusement & water parks and the usual mini golf fare but... nothing like this.

Well Mt Olympus is recent. It used to be Big Chief's, just with go karts on top of go karts and some rollercoasters. The whole "themed conversion" (and it still just looks like rides in a field...no buildings what so ever) came for 2004 I believe.

But Hades looks fun.

Yeah Hades looks pretty cool. You under the parking lot and through a whole section of coaster on the other side from what it looks like on the map.

I had to laugh at the indoor part though... they got an almost identical teacups ripoff... right down to the teapot in the middle.

Actually, the park is kitchy like the Dells you remember from the eighties. While the coasters are fun they are all very short ride experiences. The staff has little regard for safety in many cases and customer service there is non-existant. Most of the employees there are not much different from your average fair carney.

Bring on the 80's kitsch! I visited the Dells once back in that decade but they didn't have nearly as much crap to visit as they do now.

Mt. Olympus is a great place....Hades alone is worth the trip. Out of some 400+ coasters ridden, Hades is in my top 10, as is the Avalanche at nearby Timber Falls (about 1/2 mile away) The dells has really become a Wood coaster mecca.
