Talking Nor Cal Renaissance Faire and Handicapped.

Hey ya'll. I am SO looking forward to our annual Nor-Cal Renaissance Faire in Gilroy at the Casa de Fruta. DOes anyone know if it's handicapped accessable? I mean, I would have dear, dear husband who drives me in my chair like a maniac behind the wheels.. we've ben known to off road it too. Anyone have any ideas as to if it's possible??

Thanks guys!

Re: Nor Cal Renaissance Faire and Handicapped.

Hello MissViolet. The NorCal Renaissance Pleasure Faire in Gilroy is handicap accessible if you don't mind being on dirt. Nothing is paved...it's just dirt roads / pathways. The whole set-up is typically a big figure 8. You start at the front gates and wind through the inner maze of shops, peddlers, games and finally the food booths, which are all the way in the back. The last thing to see is the jousting area. There is NO shade in the jousting area, so be forwarned. But there is shade in the winding paths leading up to the end. Don't forget to see MooNie the Magnificent and Broon! Definitely a must see on the Renaissance circuit.

Re: Nor Cal Renaissance Faire and Handicapped.

Whoot! I've been to the NOr Cal ren faire many a times... never in the wheels though. I LOVE Broon and Mooney. We always leave them a big tip.. they are the highlight of our trip!
I was just wondring if anyone had been there in a wheel chair!

The dates are From September 9th through October 15th. They have theme weekends too.

September 16th/17th is pirate invasion weekend, September 30th/Oct 1st is Celtic weekend and October 7th/8th is Bacchanal & Masquerade weekend (Get drunk!!!).

I'm gunna go start a poll!

Re: Nor Cal Renaissance Faire and Handicapped.

/\ I've seen chair's at Faire garb'd up as Jousting Horses, Dragons, etc. Really cool stuff! So go have fun with it! (Was at Black Point the last year faire was there...) Then got caught up in the local small ones. Also was at Sourthern Faire for years...back when it was at Agoura.

Been many a year since I've been to a big Faire. WooT... Let's do it!!

Re: Nor Cal Renaissance Faire and Handicapped.

So, depending on which day we got... I'm gunna decorate my chair to match! If we go on Bacchanal day- kinda gold and Greek grapey. Celtic day- bring on the plaid!! and Pirate day- I'm gunna make it a pirate ship!!
Whoot! I'm thrilled!

Damn.... I'd love to go this weekend, (September 30th/Oct 1st is Celtic weekend), but it's the same as the Gumball rally.
