Superman For Sale!!

I don't know if this has been posted yet but Six Flags is advertising the sale of SUPERMAN for the low low price of $125,000!!!!! If you look at the pictures you can clearly see its superman and over on screamscape they mentioned that all the stats are for Superman even though it only says freefall on the ad. http://www.amusementtrader.com/index/listings/page1478.htm not very much at all! Intresting isnt it?

They also have their regular freefall ride for sale (all of the free falls are for sale) for only $100,000!!!
http://irmpri.com/Freefall_LA_Datash...ev%2011-06.pdf

Anyone thinking what I am thinking?!?!?!?! Put it them in my back yard and charge admission!!!!

$125,000?! That's cheaper than Walt's Chicago home!

Re: Superman For Sale!!

Well I guess it is time for SFMM to get rid of some coasters since they can't run them all anymore. I suppose this is an easier one to ditch too.

But only $125K? Wow. Seems like a steal, you'd think the metal in the ride alone could fetch more than that.

Re: Superman For Sale!!

It's a steal but you have to think of the money it costs to maintain the coaster and have somebody work it for you plus it probably has to be moved right?

Re: Superman For Sale!!

Well, that is one way to sell a park that (it seems) nobody wants to buy...

Piece by piece.

Re: Superman For Sale!!

If you read one of the links in the first post it says that you have to disassemble and move the ride.

Yeah, but still think of how much a ride like that cost to build from scratch! I mean it is alot more the $125,000!!!!! It would seem someone with money would scoop it up and put it intheir mansions backyard or something!!! Maybe Michael Jackson will install it in Neverland - NO WAIT BAD IDEA! I hope they put it here in Vegas!!!!!

Re: Superman For Sale!!

Considering it'd save SFMM millions of dollars in removal, it's basically a free barely-working ride (with free identical never-working ride!)

It'd also be a serious problem for any park to get approval to put up something that high, and it's overshadowed by the big rocket coasters now anyways so there's not much marketing value.

Re: Superman For Sale!!

Turns out, as I thought, that it is not for Superman, but for Freefall. If you click on the original link, it's no longer there.

Re: Superman For Sale!!

Am I missing something? Selling Superman: The Escape?

I read in an earlier thread, that Six Flags (The Corporation) decided to keep SFMM after all? Is this confirmed?

Re: Superman For Sale!!

No, they just decided it will be sold as a park only, not for real estate.
