Aventure City : forbidden to adults without children !

I'm Eric, a french coaster enthusiast and parkfan and I plan a trip in Los Angeles from 21st of April to 7th of May 2007.

As I was checking parks and roller coasters to visit in Los Angeles area, one of my friend said me that Adventure City is fordidden to adults without children ! I wrote an email to Adventure City management and they confirmed this to me !

Then, I'm looking for a friendship parkfan family with children who accept to help me entering in this park ! I'm offering 2 free admissions (1 for a children and 1 for his/her dad or mum) !

I purpose you 3 dates :
- Friday 27th of April at 10 AM (park open from 10 AM to 5 PM).
- Saturday 28th of April at 11 AM (park open from 11 AM to 8 PM).
- Sunday 29th at 11 AM (park open from 11 AM to 7 PM).

If somebody's interested, please let me know here or by email at tztot@free.fr.

Link to Adventure City website : http://www.adventurecity.com/

Thank you in advance.
Eric.

Wasn't Adventure City supposed to be closing for good to put in condos or something?

It's cute if you have very small children. The coaster is very small. I thought they were closing?

You're not missing out on much at Adventure City. It reminded me of a country fair. Crappy rides for the 6 and under set.

Well, maybe you'll find someone here who has never been to that park before. I don't know that Adventure City gets a lot of repeat customers. But since you need to cross it off your list and you seem determined, good luck!

This park is 6 miles west of Disneyland Resort in Anaheim.

I agree, but it is worth a visit to get an understanding of what "amusement parks" were like in Southern California before Walt Disney came up with the idea of Disneyland. If you ever go, it is charming for what it's worth, but you can easily see how Walt would have thought a place like Disneyland would be much much better.

BTW, I heard this place is closing. Anybody know anything about this?

Re: Aventure City : forbidden to adults without children !

Hmmm, no adults without children? This must be a new policy, because I used to go without children all the time. If you are an ACE Member, they (at least) used to give you a discounted $5 admission to ride the Tree-Top Racer, which is probably the credit you're looking for (the former Wild Chimpmunk). The other coaster is a very small kiddie coaster, but might as well get the credit while you're there.

I never had a problem with the ACE discount (but I did have to show my card). Maybe you could say you are meeting your family who is already inside? Worth a shot.

As far as it's closing, it will eventually, but a formal closing date has not yet been set. I'm not sure exactly how much longer it's staying open, but I thought it was for about another year or so. After it closes, it will be converted to condos. Such is the way of the world. Adventure City is small, and certainly aimed to very young children... but it is very charming in its own way. And the Tree Top Racer is a definite classic that should be saved (I believe it's future is uncertain once the park closes).

Honestly, if you are just looking for the credits ... you might find somebody from a site that's more about coasters willing to take you up on your offer.

Re: Aventure City : forbidden to adults without children !

Adventure City is a pretty sad park. The entire park is about the size of....maybe tomorrowland. It's tiny! If you've ever been to Camp Snoopy at Knott's it's like that. The rides are all for super young children. We've taken the kids that YMCA I work for over summer camp and all the kids ages 8+ don't like the place.

The most fun I had there was when the llama in the petting zoo started chewing on this girl's hair. She was one of my kids and I was laughing hysterically!

Otherwise, go to Knott's which is literally across the street from Adventure City.

Re: Aventure City : forbidden to adults without children !

Knott's Berry Farm is planned too ! And many other parks : Six Flags Magic Mountain, Universal Studios, Castle Park, Disneyland & DCA, Sea World, Belmont Park, Legoland California, Pharaoh's Lost Kingdom, Scandia Amusement Park, Pacific Park and...

... Adventure City ! I know it's crapy, I know it's for children, but it's a +2 coaster-credit and it is forbidden for lonely adults ! I just want to enter in this park, ride both coasters and go out immediately !

If anybody wants to help, you're welcome...

At Knott's, the Timberline Twister kiddie coaster is forbidden to adult without children too, if you can help riding this, you're welcome too !
