Re: fright fest

Yes I went last year for my first time to SFMM Fright Fest . And I will Not be rushing back any time soon. I was not imprested at all. The only saving grace was we got in with our season pass and did not have to pay extra to get in. so if thats the case and you have nothing els to do sure give it a try. But dont expect to much.

Re: fright fest

I do not like the way SF does Fright Fests, at SFGAm the park was not open past sunset, haunted houses were not free with admission, little to no street preformers, and most of the flat rides were down causing everyone there to be in the coaster lines creating 2-3 hour waits. Ugh, either have limited operations with free haunted houses or have full operations with upcharge houses or have it be a special ticket event. The other Halloween events I have been too (BGE's Howl-o-Scream and CP's Halloweekends) were much more fun, and because of them I love ending my coaster season with Halloween events.

Not at SFMM, all mazes and shows are included in price of ticket.

Re: fright fest

we haven't been to SFMM Fright Fest since 2000, its just not worth the drive all the way up there from the OC for so little scary entertainment. (where we spend our october vacation becuase its all about Haunt)

Re: fright fest

The Asylum is a chain link fence maze with strobe lights that dim on and off like the Indy que. No sets nothing. Its located under the monarail station net to moose lodge. They have monsters in strait jackets wondering threw blocking your way out. But its a small maze. that you can see al the way threw and have to figure out the right way out.

if that's your goal, then i say do it...we did that ourselves in 2000.

i would also suggest hitting The Haunted Cellar at the Block@Orange and maybe even Spooky House up in the SF Valley. We've never been to the Queen Mary, but they have a haunt there as well.
