(Credit goes to screamscape.com) Universal Studios has updated the official Halloween Horror Nights website with a little bit of early information, namely the 2007 schedule: Oct. 5, 6, 12, 13, 19, 20, 26, 27, 28, 31.

So does the fact that USH only has 10 days of HHN and USF has 23 days of HHN tell you anything?

Oi, the 10 days for HHN Hollywood does not bode well.

One problem I kept hearing from reviews was they didn't have enough nights, leading to packed crowds and longs lines.

Orlando has built their HHN in to a large event, and USH is just getting started.

Last year's HHN was more an experiment than anything else. Nobody expected the crowds that came (well, nobody with the money or planning authority to make things better). It was put together really quickly, and there's a lot more planning and budget for this year.

Re: Hollywood Universal Halloween Horror NIghts 2007 Dates Anounced

I'm not saying the event itself sucked, I'm saying the planning sucks.

I didn't go to HHN last year, in fact, I've NEVER been to any HHN (only haunt). I'm not going to say it sucks just because.

Having the event Friday/Saturday nights isn't enough. It's still going to be insanely crowded. Just throwing an extra weekend in early October in won't help the crowds the weeks leading up to Halloween.

They need to at least throw Sunday nights (they only have 1 now) in there and maybe a couple of Thursdays. If they truly want to make the event compete with Haunt, they need to give it the chance.

I also think they should do the days after Halloween as well since Halloween is on a Wednesday people may still be in the Halloween mood that first weekend in Nov.

Re: Hollywood Universal Halloween Horror NIghts 2007 Dates Anounced

We were at all of the previous HHN's (starting with the one in the CityWalk's parking garage) and then the one last year (Friday the 13th).

And we've done Knott's a few times, back when Elvira was doing her thing.

We take them for what they are worth... A nights worth of entertainment.

They use to do Sundays, and the day after Halloween if it fell on a w/e.

We enjoyed them, and hope that they continue to add to them (both quality and number of days).

I'm sure that their initial thinking was to just get it up and going again, and then work on the logistics of it going long-term.

As with DL (or so it seems), I'm sure they would rather see lines for the events, versus a ghost-town type (lack of) crowd.

We are looking forward to HHN's again this year.

Thanks for posting the dates!

^ Universal is probably also still wanting to test the waters for the event. Hoping the hype from last year may bring more visitors this year. If so, then maybe next year they'll add more nights along with new attractions. Why throw all your eggs in one basket when you can spread it around...

omg - the nightmare!!!! i mean, it was a ton of fun. but when you are the only person working in the area where the guests are supposed to get their "stay and scream" wristbands?

yeah. NIGHTMARE.

Re: Hollywood Universal Halloween Horror NIghts 2007 Dates Anounced

after going to HHN last year on the 2nd night i seriously pondered why i bothered.

it was not well planned, overcrowded and very short of horror-entertainment. not mention their overusage of barricades..how is a crowd supposed to be scared of monsters when there is a steel barricade between them and the guests?

i did hear from people who went later in the month that it got better as time went on, i seriosuly hope they learn from the mistake that was last year and do a much better job this time around.

i'll be checking it out again this year, one night....whereas we are doing Haunt at knotts for at least 5 maybe 6 nights....tells ya something eh?
