Dollywood

Has anyone here ever been there???
They have a new ride that looks pretty neat looking. They went all out on the theming which is what I like!
Check it out.

Re: Dollywood

I saw the construction of that ride when I went there last year.

Dollywood is definitely one of my favorite parks... cheapest way to do it -- if you get there a little late on one day (after 2, I think?) you get the next day free.

Re: Dollywood

I have tons of family back there, so I go every time I visit. The last time was in 2005. It's a pretty cool place.

Re: Dollywood

I haven't been in a long time but we used to go a lot when I was a kid. Back then they had a boat ride similar to pirates which was where that new mine ride is where you rode through a flooded mine. Then there was also a somewhat cool indoor roller coaster where you rode a firetruck through a town on fire. They also had a nice wooden coaster back then and some kind of crazy water ride where you had to climb the side of a mountain and then slide down a water slide in this weird boat thing. The other ride I remember was their raft ride.

Those were the only parts I liked as the rest of the park was very focused on country music and old time candlemaking and things like that which bored me. But we still had a fairly good time whenever we went.

Re: Dollywood

Yes everything is included. Even if Dolly's there doing a show it's free I understand.

My take. I loathe country music. I can't stand Dolly. I LOVE Dollywood. It's that good of a park, and I've never seen a show!

Thunderhead is also a top 5 coaster in my book. (Out of over 100 diffferent wooden coasters ridden)

Re: Dollywood

I've never been. I remember when there was no Dollywood. Btu when we used to go to Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg when I was a kid ti was in March before the park was open for the season. My parents have been there a couple times when they've gone to Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg in the fall. I'd love to go back there someday though. Last visit was 1991!

That Mystery Mine looks really awesome though. I remember when they announced they were going to build it.

Don't take this for fact because its probably been at least 15 years since I was last there but back then they used to bring in some big name country stars who would put on concerts inside the park. Those shows did cost extra to go see. Lone Star was playing the last time I was there and some of my family purchased the tickets to go see them. The rest of us just kept running around doing the rides.

All of the other shows inside the park that are normal are included with admission however.
