New ending at USH's Mummy

The final scene for USH's Mummy ride has been changed, and I think the changes have been in effect for about a week or two. Anyone seen it yet?

Rode it twice yesterday - I like it much more than the Faux Fire ending effect.

Re: New ending at USH's Mummy

Spoiler

Instead of the Faux Fire lit up room - the room with the turntable is completely dark. There's a sound of thunder and Imhotep being bad and the room fills with fog, and a few strobes go off as the turntable turns- just before the turntable gets finished; a projection of Imhotep appears over the curtain, he yells and there's a loud boom and BLINDING flash of light - the curtain rises. I know that description is just about useless, but it's a pretty stunning effect in person.

Also, the entire tomb is now about 65 degrees Fahrenheit, making it a very inviting place on hot days.

I wish the Orlando version was just as great as the Hollywood version of this ride. We in Orlando always get the shaft when it comes to high-profile rides.

Re: New ending at USH's Mummy

The improvements really do sound better than what was there. Honestly, I'd much rather have E.T. back, but oh well. If they had made the ride a liiiiiittle longer, I think I may like it more, but now I'm intrigued to go and see this new ending.

Longer does not make it better, like bigger does not make WDW better than other DL resorts. However, I found the ride at USH to have a better show and storyline, and nicer technical aspects. The USF version is bland and simply messier. I am impressed more by the little things than those bigger and longer options. Heck! even the indoor queue was better in Hollywood over FL's.

Then again... USH is a better park over USF, overall... Not taking IOA into concideration.

Re: New ending at USH's Mummy

the first and only time i've ridden this ride was last october when we went to Halloween Horror Nights....and i was terribly disappointed with it.

a lot of the "themeing" during the ride looked to me like images spraypainted on cardboard....and the ending was like "that's it?"

glad to hear they've made some changes, i'll give it another try at HHN this year

p.s. Hi from me too MissChristine!

I totally agree. The first time I rode it, when we came back into the loading dock I was like...I was just here. Did we seriously just ride that? Granted it is a VERY smooth coaster, it just didn't do it for me-and it sounds the same way for you. And I hate that you have to put your worldly posessions into a locker. Grrr. I don't trust those things and have heard stores of stuff getting taken from them (and that came from a reliable USH source).
