Knotts Halloween Event

Does anyone know about a Halloween event at Knott's? I just moved into the area, and someone at work told me to go check it out. Any idea on what night it is and how much it costs? Is it worth it?

Thanks.

Re: Knotts Halloween Event

if you go to the knott's site and look for Knott's Scary farm you will find lots of information, they have been doing it for many, many years. it runs the month of October and prices vary depending on which day you go and if you have a coupon(available at burger king most years). It is a seperate event, the park closes for the day at 5pm, then re-opens at 7 for the haunt.

We try to go at least twice each season and always have fun!!

Re: Knotts Halloween Event

10 Mazes and 2 re-themed rides. 4 Scare Zones.

I say go early in the month due to small crowds and lots of monsters. It's alot of fun and VERY scary!

Hopefully I will attending with Elly this year!

The Haunted Cellar at The Block in Orange isn't that bad either ;-)

the Haunted Cellar is a small, neighborhood haunt, for its size and the young people who work there, they put their hearts into and it shows. Dustin and I both enjoyed our trip thru the Cellar last year and will be visiting it again this year.

As to Haunt at Knotts:

This will be our 10th year in a row of attending Haunt. For me Haunt is not just an attraction, its a complete immersive experience. Over the years we've made some very good friends via the Haunt experience. This will be Knotts' 35th year of doing Haunt and imho it just continues to deliver every year.

If this will be your first trip the best suggestions i can give you are:

Do NOT go on a Friday or Saturday night, they're very crowded and it can be frustrating if you dont' have enough time to do all the Mazes and Scare Zones. My picks for the best nights to attend are Thursday or Sunday, smaller crowds but enough to keep the talent and the guests going well.

Do NOT ride the regular rides during your visit. Those rides are there all year long, the mazes-scare zones and shows are only there during Haunt and they should be your priority.

Do call and make reservations to attend the VIP Pre-scare Buffet. Its only 15$ and it gets you into the park about 30mins before they open the gates to the general public. Its a good way to get a head start on your night.

Do spend time sitting in the scare zones watching the monsters work their craft. If you've been able to see all the mazes and the shows of your choosing, take the time to do this. Its a heck of a lot of fun. We are planning on attending Haunt for 5-6 nights this year and at least one of those nights will be mostly just sitting in the scare zones enjoying the scare-mosphere. I would suggest maybe a late night (10-11pm) snack on the patio of the Ghost Town Grill, the benches in front of the restroom in The Gauntlet, right past the funnel cake shop to watch Silver Bullet Mining Town and whereever you can spot those crazy klowns of Carnevil.

Do make sure you see the improv show "Hacks!". It is by far the BEST show to be at Haunt in years. The last show of the night is "Adult" and tends to be the funniest.

Do make sure you also see Marty Putz' Prank Party if he returns this year. You haven't lived until you've witnessed Chubby Bunny.

I'll post more about Haunt once Knotts starts to release information on this years lineup....i can't wait

Is it October yet?

Hehe, the Chubby Bunny!!

Definately go on a weekday.

I always enjoy THE HANGING.

Beware of attraction exits!

I'm sorry. Worst show I have EVER seen. Everyone started to chant "You Suck" when we saw him. Has no place in the Haunt environment. It just doesn't fit.

If any of you are interested, Knott's already started the hiring process for those who want to work the Haunt. Right now they are only looking for people to start setting up the mazes, which actually begins next month. They start putting up the backstage mazes like 13 Axe Manor and the Asylum then start putting up the other mazes in the park about September after Labor Day. They will start hiring entertainment around late August/ Early September

Would love to see Rob Zombie's Halloween replace it. I heard from a friend that works the special effects for the Haunt that it's a rumor that he's hearing as well but he wont know until next month.
