Talking HUGE Nighttime Zoo photos and oldies!

Well, I went to the nighttime zoo this past weekend and saw some great stuff and I plan to go again and take better and more photos of what is around but I got a good few shots. I also wanted to put some older photos I have taken just in case you wanted to see some animals since I really didn't take many photos of the animals this time I went.

This was taken at the children's zoo , and it was in a cage but I always try to get a decent shot of the animals behind the cage which in this case was a hornbill:

Me and my fiancee ran into the Dr Zoolittle show and saw these kids who got the chance to eat some delicious bugs and two of them chickened out but at the end of the show they gave the opportunity for everyone else to try some delicious bugs and I could not say no and with some persuasion , I got her to try one too! :

I wish I could have recorded this panda in action but I tried to get photos of it instead but ended up deleted them all except these which aren't as good as previous shots:

These swamp monkeys are always fun to watch and the new babies are worth visiting:

Whenever I come to the zoo, the hippo is usually just laying somewhere or sleeping but this time, it was going in circles nonstop !:

Part of the new nighttime zoo schedule, they have Animal Encounters which features several of the zoo's animal ambassadors - This lovely arctic wolf :

We tried to make the wolf howl but luck wasn't on our side but I have heard it howl before at the show it's in and it gives you shivers :

This sea lion who I can't recall it's name:

This gorgeous Owl:

A 12 inch boa constructor ( which we got to pet)

and after the the both seperate animal encounters, you to got take pictures with an animal and I got to pet the owl :

One of the cool new shows at the Nighttime zoo is SPLASH. This guy goes nuts painting animals in 10 minutes or less with some very interesting techniques

It was almost time to see the show that will be the final show at the end but I was hoping to see if my friends the hyenas were out and they sure were!:

So we headed out to see the final show of the night, Talamasca—Jungle Myths and Legends. It started off with A LOT of freebies and was kind of scared of getting hit by beads but luckily I didn't get hit but sadly didn't get the cool spiders they were handing out but here is a preview of the show:

The end for this segment I will post the rest tomorrow and might add the wild animal park ones as well since they're just too good to miss. Yeah, told you it was HUGE!

Great photos. I love the ones of the painter, that's very cool that he does those in 10 mins or under. Thanks for sharing your TR and the photos.

Re: HUGE Nighttime Zoo photos and oldies!

Outstanding! THe Sleeping koala was neat. And the sleeping male lion in WAP as neat also. Heck all the photos were just great. Thanks for sharing! Did you super saturate some of the colors on some photos? Really vivid colors.

Oh yeah, what time of day did you go on the Photo Caravan at WAP? We've not done that yet, maybe next spring.

We went to WAP last night (06/30/07), will post photos if I got any good ones.

Thanks again,

CU@DL (and SD Zoo and WAP)

Andy

When I took some of these photos, I was going through a phase where I thought if I made them more saturated through photoshop, they would look better but now I kind of hate them but about 80% of them that I posted were only resized.

They look OK, they have a surreal appearance to them. I like them, differnet. A few are great, all of them would be too much, but you struck a good balance between the super saturated and normal.

Keep it up!
