Every Major California Theme Park To Recieve A New Attraction/s In 2008

Disneyland California: New Monorail, Innoventions New Exhibits, Disneyland Dream Suite

Disney's California Adventure: Toy Story Mania!, Pixar Play! Parade, Preview Center, Updated Playhouse Disney Show

Six Flags Magic Mountain: X2: Xtreme to the 2ND Power, Thomas Town

Universal Studios Hollywood: The Simpsons Ride

Knott's Berry Farm: Pony Express

Sea World California: Sesame Street 4D: Movie Magic, Sesame Street Bay of Play

Legoland California: Land of Adventure including Lost Kingdom Adventure, Cargo Ace, Beetle Bounce and Pharaoh's Revenge, Sea Life Legoland opening adjacent to the park

Six Flags Discovery Kingdom: Tony Hawk's Big Spin

California's Great America: Firefall, Ice Show Spectacular

All of this adds to 8 new rides, 3 new play areas, 4 new shows, 2 updated rides, and two new exhibits.

This is all of what is confirmed, I am sure there will still be more to come, even with this I am satisfied but I'm sure more will be announce throughout the year.

Well, I would also consider Bonfante Gardens and Santa Cruz to be major parks. Not sure if they will be getting anything new though.

But it will be a good year for parks in CA although I'm waiting to hear more about Thomas Town before I fall over in my chair.

I think a trip up north to ride Tony Hawks Big Spin will be in order next year.

Well nothing is confirmed for Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk but there is a strong rumor that the existing Haunted Castle Dark Ride will be replaced with a newer version, estimated for an opening in 2008, wow, can't believe that park is already 100 years old.

I would not count the Dream Suite as an attraction. The vast majority of park guests won't get to use it or even see it and it won't really "attract" guests since the average park guest doesn't know what the Year of a Million Dreams is or how it even works.

I wonder how many people see a Dream Squad guy and go, "What are you selling???"

So the loss of the Disney Gallery would actually be minus an attraction for Disneyland for 2008.

ditto, sigh, the Loss of the Disney Gallery is really a loss of
a beautiful area that ALL guests could experience. Now ONLY the
ELITE will EVERY get a chance to set foot in that area ~ MAJOR
DEGRADE for all of Disneyland guests.

As for Innoventions, oh please, just GUT the Entire receptacle and
give us an attraction that is worthy to succeed Carousel of Progress
and America Sings! Innoventions is just a Crappy reminder of the
makeover TL received in '98 ~ Tony Baxter needs to get rid of ANY
and ALL remnants of that horrendous error/era, and it can't be soon
enough. DL really does need a New Parade, to continue eliminating
TL'98, a New show in the Fantasyland Theater or Festival Arena,
and of course a new Fort on Tom Sawyer Island. And they need to
find the Country Bears a new home, as they have been wandering
around the Park as homeless, destitute, unemployed, but lovable
characters. Disney have a heart!

The Monorail trains are just being replaced, as the old ones have
literally been falling apart for years. At least DL doesn't lose an
attraction here.

Do come up and visit us! Discovery Kingdom made some major leaps & bounds this last season, and the overall experience has improved greatly. If they pour that kind of capital into the park again over this next off-season, then it'll truely be one of Six Flag's flagship parks.

Yup. And Disneyland needs those little nooks and crannies for people to get away from the crowds and relax. The loss of the Gallery is a loss of capacity, and that loss contributes to more crowded walkways and a general feeling of crowdedness.

The Subs may have added some capacity, but it's poorly designed queue creates a bottleneck and just adds to that overall feeling of crowdedness in that area.

Disneyland really needs those smaller attractions such as the Skyway and People Mover to soak up some of the crowds and give people a place to relax.

That's awesome to hear.

We went a few years back when it was Marine World, and did like the park (we all LOVED Roar) and V2, but found some of the operations a little lacking. Especially on Medusa.

I'm really interested in seeing how the park has changed. If we do we'll certainly see about planning a NorCal MC meet. I know some other MiceChatters live in the area.

Yeah, I appreciate all this information in one posting, but the thread title is what I am struggling with - is a dream suite, some new exhibits inside innoventions, OR a replacement upgrade monorail car a "NEW ATTRACTION' in any sense of the word?

Lol, I know, but I tried to dig up anything new for Disneyland but that's the only thing i can come up with, they are only upgrades, technically this is the only park not getting something entirely new.

Thank goodness for that! The ride smells so aweful.
