Re: Huge Fire at Universal Studios, CA

From what I'm hearing on the news, the King Kong building is gone, New York and New England streets are gone, and courthouse square is gone.

As of ch 7 report of about 10 minutes ago, the Video Vault was still smoldering and being hosed down. It contains video tapes, not film reels. Some material has been recovered - none is irreplaceable. Fire started at 440 on New York Street. Reported said King Kong bldg and Courthouse Square destroyed. 3 minor injuries to FFs.

Re: Huge Fire at Universal Studios, CA

My father worked on King Kong all through its creation and he's also the voice of King Kong. Even if they rebuild it it won't be the same.

Re: Huge Fire at Universal Studios, CA

Sadly,The King Kong building is now just a shell. I really hope Universal rebuilds it or something, the backlot tour won't be the same without him.

Re: Huge Fire at Universal Studios, CA

That's a shame since I was in Hollywood yesterday and wondering if I should head on over to Universal to finally get my pass ... too bad the King Kong part of the ride is gone.
