Universal's Collapsing Bridge to return!

A message on thestudiotour.com from a Universal tram driver states that the retired Collapsing Bridge attraction will be making a return in August. This is due in part to the loss of Kong. Great news!

i hope this is true and they incorporate into the tram portion of Halloween Horror Nights!

I only been there 3 times, 1 time being 1, then 6, then 15. So im excited as i researched it and barely remembered it. It should be nice while the Kong area is waiting a new attraction. Im going in August so i hope its true.

OMG! That bridge scared the living crap out of me when I was 11! I remember screaming my bloody fool head off and the ENTIRE tram laughed at me!

^^ Only if you're terrified of the sensation of falling. When I fist visited Universal in 1985 (when I was 11), I had no idea the bridge did that and it just scared me s***less.

No. Think of the dropping floor in HISTA, but on a tram. That's about it.

Question: Are they planning on fixing it? Last I heard it was damaged beyond repair, so I would think they would either build a new one or seriously upgrade the old one.

I think the "Damaged beyond repair" bit was just a nice way of them not having to maintain it.

I'm sure it will need some work before it's reopened though.

I was on the USH tour today and saw work being done on the bridge. The water had been drained under it and some men were inspecting it. As a side note, I also saw Jim Carrey come out of the Bates motel dressed as Norman Bates! He put a fake body in the trunk of the car and came after the tram with a knife! Very cool!
