Re: Pin collecting.. Where to begin?
Does anyone know how much the 4-pin starter sets are in the park? My son loves Buzz and wants that set, and we are making a trip to DL after Thanksgiving. I wasn't sure if I should wait and buy in the park, or if some of the new-in-package sets on ebay are that much of a better deal. I've seen them for $22 - $26 there...

I find it much more exciting to buy at the Park...it's all about creating the magic and memories your son will never forget.....

4 pin starter sets are 22.95 in the parks now. They were 19.95 just a few months ago.

Re: Pin collecting.. Where to begin?
Sometimes the Outlet Store Near Harbor and Orangethorpe (north on Harbor, just past 91, on the east side) sells older pins as low as $4 each. Ebay often has people selling Disney Pins in large quantities. If you can get a low price per pin on some of these auctions - and they work great as traders.
Also, if you are wearing some pins that you REALLY like, it's definitely worthwhile buying some "pin locks". DL sells these where ever they sell pins, just ask where they are located, and I'm sure a cast member would be happy to show you how they work.
Re: Pin collecting.. Where to begin?
I have about 30 pins that I have bought for traders for my late Nov./early Dec. trip to DL. I am meeting with a friend who is an avid collector, to be sure they are ALL good pins and not fakes. I'd just DIE if I tried to trade and they were scrapers! (This is my first pin trading experience, except a brief one with a friend in June.) Anyway---I think it should just be a fun hobby. That's what it is to me. I save the attraction pins, because those are really the ones I love. The rest, I am trading away! :) Should be fun!
