WDI Dead Ride Pins

I was browsing pinpics at new pins and i cam across these interesting but cool pins. They are called WDI Dead Ride pins. There are 6 pins in the set. Each pin is based on a former ride that has been dead at Disneyland. Here they are

Flying Saucers: Pin Pics: View Pin 68465

Skyway: Pin Pics: View Pin 68468=

America Sings: Pin Pics: View Pin 68464

Country Bear Jamboree: Pin Pics: View Pin 68466

Adventure Thru Innerspace: Pin Pics: View Pin 68467=

Midget Autopia: Pin Pics: View Pin 68463

Rocket to the Moon: Pin Pics: View Pin 68462

I personally think they are creative and i might buy a couple. What do you think?

Those are all clever! The Country Bear tombstone made me laugh so hard! "Pooh Happens" is the PERFECT caption for it. And Big Al with angel wings... great pin.

Re: WDI Dead Ride Pins

At first I thought the Country Bears pin was hilarious. But the more I thought about it (and got some perspective) I realized it was the worst of the lot. Why did they need to mock the ride that replaced CBJ in such an obvious way?

Re: WDI Dead Ride Pins

That's kinda their point!
BTW - there are seven.
Interesting set. I prefer the Remember When set - more well done, nicer looking.

Re: WDI Dead Ride Pins

I love the concept behind this set. I didn't mind the Country Bears pin. I thought it was only stating a fact that a Pooh attraction replaced it. Of course, I'm kinda bias because I remember that the Country Bears was one of the attractions that I could see again and again at TDL. It's definitely one of my favorite. Before this pin, I never knew it was replaced at Disneyland ... sad times

Re: WDI Dead Ride Pins

The sad thing is Pooh happened right as the Pooh fad was winding down. Now we have an attraction that kids don't know about and adults don't care about. I miss the Country Bears! And the pin is not very considerate, it went too far.

Re: WDI Dead Ride Pins

That is what happened though. It's not lying. The CBJ just got too outdated, and they replaced it with a more current attraction that kids knew of and parents grew up with. Pooh did happen to the CBJ... he moved in. The way its phrased is just a clever play on words to fit the humorous tombstone captions.

I think the CB pin is a riot! I am going to buy it...and all of them...if I can find them all at a decent price!

I already have bought the CBJ pin. It's on its way to my house (should be, at any rate) right now!

Re: WDI Dead Ride Pins

I think they are hilarious! I'd love to own the set, but alas, funds are short for a teenager these days.

Stitchon couldn't have answered that better. It's exactly what he says. What with college eating up most of my money, and car expenses as well, I can only afford to indulge a little, so I opted to buy my favorite of them all and be happy :oD
