I am surprised for example that the Tinker Bell pirate coin pin is still around as well as the Tink Countdown to Halloween pin. Last year they most likely would have been gone by now.
The impression that I get is that hard core collectors are narrowing their focus and themes. I have noticed a lot of non LE pins sell out quickly at DL - Most recently the Haunted Mansion Tombstone mystery sets, the Toy Story 3 Reveal/Conceal sets and all of the TS3 open editions - Lotso, Buttercup, Trixie, Mr. Pricklepants, Peas in the Pod. Of course it could be that the production runs have been decreased.
