Recent Pin Acquisition(s) Thread II -- Pin Harder

Surprise. I got another pin in the mail today all the way from Scotland. He must have been on a secret mission there to stop Dr Doofenshmirtz.

It's Perry the Playtpus.

This pin is responsible for my son's current obsession with pin trading. He saw this, bought it and now has about 20 of various characters (all within about 3 weeks).
Here in the UK, we can only buy and trade in the Disney Store but he is doing pretty well. He has already managed to get some that originated in DL and recently got an excellent trade ending up with the Goof Troop Ltd Ed pin (750).

I have seen that on Ebay you can get 50 pins for $40 from a company based in Miami but shipping from China. Is this worth doing? Is it reputable? As an absolute beginner in this game I would really appreciate some advise.

Usually that is a sign the pins are scrappers...pins not authorized by Disney. If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is regarding Disney pins. I usually don't order from ebay unless they have pictures of what they are selling (what I'm really getting) and they have a high selling rating. Even still, there is a lot of sellers not to trust.

The big lots I don't go for, and I think they are a little suspicious...

There are many others who can elaborate, but these are my .02

I agree with YoYo. Especially since they are shipping from China. I would not make that deal.

My recent acquisition is a 2008 Mickey Mouse Singing in the Rain pin. I've been trying to find its listing on Pin Pics but no luck. I googled it and another site says it was released at WDW and is part of a set called movie moments. Tried using these key words on Pin Pics but nothing came up.



I wish they'd start backstamping ID numbers into the pins for easier identification. If anyone happens to locate this pin on Pin Pics, let me know. I'd like to see the info they may have for it.

So I was at the Pacific Northwest Mousemeet yesterday. I got some pins. lol

First I got the official pin for this year's event from the event organizer.



I got this one off a trade board.



Then I traded with a little girl for this pin.



And traded with her mom for this one.



Finally I bought 3 pins from a vendor.





This one I had been after for awhile. I was glad to get it.

In hindsight, I should have bought an extra or two as HM pin collectors tend to be some of the best traders around.

We got this promotion card in the mail from Disney Visa that said if you brought it into a Disney Store, you would get a free pin with any purchase. I bought 2 Vinylmations (and got 2 I didn't have, woo!)

The pin is similar to others, Tink on a white sparkly cloud with a little tag that says Disney Store. She looks kinda freaky though.
