Whatever happened to 1st Sunday & AP Gift with Min. Purchase Pins

Whatever happened to these pin promotions? I know the AP free-pin-with-dining ended almost two years ago (at least at DLR), but will it ever be brought back?

What about the first Sunday of the month collectible gifts with purchase? I tried keeping track of this, but haven't gotten any real answers from CMs or the Disneypins site. Those used to be some really cute pins! Did DLR discontinue this practice because of cost, or what?

We now offer a mystery pin for $1 with every $30 purchase. There are several different sets of mystery pins available. This last weekend in PT Flea we had the 10th anniversary of pin trading pins and the attraction ticket sets. No more free pin first Sunday of the month.
