Camp Pin E Ha Ha-Anyone Going?

personally, I think the event is way overpriced and does not constitute $135 for the right to BUY more pins. The pins are definetly not worth the money and I can live without them. But I was wondering if anyone else was going to go.
If you want more info just ask me and I'll post it or you can check out Disneypins.com or Disneygallery.com

After looking at the merchandise (which can be found HERE) I totally agree with you. Nothing to really interest me much.

So you have to pay $135.00 just to get in? And then you can shop for that stuff? Please tell me there's more to it!

Will trade husband for Disneyland and DCA Pins!

According to the site that's pretty much all you can do for your $135.00. But here is what they list:

    CAMPIN' OUT Event Package

    - First Opportunity to Pre-Purchase Camp Pin-E-Ha-Ha Themed Merchandise
    - Commemorative Keepsake

    June 17, 2007...
    - Lite Continental Breakfast

    - Campin' Activities
    - Earn Merit Badges (pins)
    - Camp Out n' Trade
    - Picnic-style Boxed Lunch
    -
    Campfire Jamboree

Sounds cute but $135 is a bit steep!
    Good morning, son
    In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
    It was pain
    Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...

I think that the merit badges are pins that you earn by doing stuff that is included in the price. But I agree $135, I would want a hotel room or at least another meal.

Sounds fun, but also agree that it is way to pricey!

Re: Camp Pin E Ha Ha-Anyone Going?

    I'm contemplating on going, . . . because I'm
a BIG Humphrey Bear Fan. BUT even so,
with this just being a pin event, it really is
WAY overpriced, even considering that there
    are two meals included.

What bothers me about this event is why are
they so weird about what this event really includes,
    besides pin trading.

What the heck is "Earn Merrit Badges (Pins)"
are we guaranteed to get additional pins?
Other prizes? Will those pins even be anything
that I would be interested in? Do you Pay
additional money to "earn" these so called
    merrit badges??????

And just what kind of freebies will be part of the
package ~ will it just be more pins, pins that
I really don't care about? OK, I realize the "gifts'
with the package are always a surprise.

I wonder if the pic-nic lunch will include a
freebie also ~ perhaps a lunch box with the
    event logo?

And a "Campfire Jamboree" how the heck is that
    going to work.

Pin events in and of themselves aren't our thing, so the husband and I are skipping this one, as we did with the Chip and Dale pin event.

I've looked at these pins online. I was wondering if there was anyway to buy some without going to the event? Does anyone know?

Also by the description above, I get the impression that they will be releasing the pins that you can "pre-purchase" eventually. So why spend that amount of money when you can buy the pins eventually?

I would have to agree with most that this seems like a waste of money, maybe bad marketing?

The last "Official Pin Event", I recall was Chip n' Dale in Frontierland.
There were LOTs of pins that did not sell out at the event, and soon
after the event, were made available to the general public. I assume
most of the pins being sold with the event packages, are a limited
edition. Whatever pins are not sold out, will more than likely find
their way to the pin shops around DL. Standard policy for purchasing
pins through Deliverears, is any open edition can be purchased after
the release date, and any limited edition can be purchased 30 days
after the release date, IF the ltd edition pin has not sold out.

I would guess the most popular pins will sell out with the event.
Pins not as popular will be around for a while.

Whatever's not sold at the event will be available to the general public, so it depends on which pins you're looking for. There were a few pins from the Chip and Dale event that I liked, but they all sold out at the event, so none were left over. I didn't want them enough to go to the event just to be able to buy the pins.

You could find someone who is going to the event and see if they'd be willing to buy the pins for you. But there's no guarantee you'd get them either. If it's a limited edition and more people want one than there are available, they'll do a lottery.

Pre-purchasing is only available to the people who have registered for the event. That's how all the merchandise works for the events. Usually a month or so before the event, they will send out information to event registrants so you can let them know which pieces of merchandise you want. If fewer people want a certain piece than there are available, then you'll get it. If more people want it, then they have a lottery, usually referred to as the Random Selection Process.

I know that a few of the Original Mouseketeers will be attending (or have at least been invited to ) the Campfire Jamboree...
