    Re: Your pin collection

so i finally managed to get pics of my pins. ive been waiting till i was done for awhile but i cant seem to stay off of ebay. so here is what i have. i have 4 frames and will need more soon but theyre in my laundry room so when i come home i walk through there from the garage. that way i get to see them alot.

tinker bell is my favorite (imagine that) so she needs her own frame

this one still has some room but by the time i get the rest of what ive bought im thinking itll be full too.

i got into the pins in december when a cast member at the hotel gave me the tinkerbell dream pins and we started chatting. as you can see, im an addict. before that i had maybe 20 pins that id bought over the past 10 years. now when i go to the parks and i see him he always gives me a hug and apologises to my husband for starting my pin addiction since my husbands the one that gets stuck funding it.

Nice collection, Laurabeth! I have 5 of those pins. And none of them are Star Wars, unfortunately.

    Re: Your pin collection

thanks! i can be kinda random with what i buy but i only get the ones i like. thats the beauty of collecting only what i like vs doing it for value and such. but it makes me sad im so far from the parks. i can only trade maybe once every few months. im even more a sucker for a good star wars pin than i am for tinker bell. the trouble is theres not all that many i can seem to get my hands on. im bidding on a cool yoda one on ebay. im keeping my fingers crossed that it doesnt go above what i can pay.

Thanks for sharing laurabeth! Of course I love your Tink ones! You have so many great ones!
    Good morning, son
    In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
    It was pain
    Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...

Laurabeth, where did you get your shadow boxes you have your pins in? I would like to get something like that, but where I live I can't find anything, and I refuse to pay $18 just for shipping on eBay. Did you by chance get them at Michaels?

i actually got the stuff at joanns. im sure michaels would have it though. theyre just black shadow boxes and i got some corkboard and black denim and aresol glue. i cut the cork to the size of the frame and glued it down with the denim over it. it was super easy and relatively cheap. the shadow boxes are 16x20 and cost the most. but on sale they werent too bad. i like the way it turned out. i lost a few pins when i just had them stuck in a cork board on the wall. plus i got too many for that and needed to expand. i now have 5 frames all the same size and cant seem to stop from buying more pins. im gonna run out of wall space!

Thanks Laurabeth!! There is a Joanne's in the same place as Michaels in Palm Desert... next time I make it down there I'll have to look! And thanks for letting me know about the corkboard... I was thinking the boxes came that way so I'll get some cork too!

    Re: Your pin collection

I'm just getting starting collecting these things so I don't have much of a collection.... yet. Thanks to Laurabeth for the clue in to the shadow boxes! I still have to find some cork, but I've got a start. I took a picture of what I have so far out of the glass because I kept getting a reflection. Since I don't have many pins, I put my Dream Laynard and some of my Disney buttons on the board too. Yup... got lots of room.

These three are pins I've had for years. Since I was in high school I think. (?) I don't even remember where they came from. (Well one was obviously from Micky D's but...)

Same with these buttons. The first one my husband had, I just recently found it burried in a drawer. The other one is a hologram type of button, and is hard to photograph.

    Re: Your pin collection

Here's my pin collection... the pics aren't that great (flash glares.....), but they're the best I can do right now... I have 5 frames.

Frame #1 (Original 25 I began collecting with)

    Frame #2:

    Frame #3:

    Frame #4 (most recent pins)

Missing from that frame is the Tiki Room birds 4-pin boxed set, and the gold "Walk in Walt's Footsteps" pins that I recieved from taking the tour... and again, sorry about the blurriness and flash glares
