Crush's EACoaster

Ok. So I am building my very first "themed" attraction called "Crush's EACoaster". I got the idea from Crush's coaster at DLP so I decided to try this myself.

It has 4 inversions and I'm not sure what the highest speed is yet. I also don't know how to take pictures on the game so if any of you guys can help me out... that would be great.

You take photos by simply pressing F10. You can do this while outside the ride for overall views of the ride, or you can do it while riding the ride. You did good on that one, so I think you have figured it out by now. Also on the control panel that pops up on Coaster Cam whenever you move the mouse you can, in some rides, go from the front car to the middle car to the back car. Also by pressing the letter key B you can change the view from the front at track level, to above the cars or next to the cars on some rides. You have to experiment to see what you can do. You can also make a movie of the ride by pressing CTL+SPACE+F11 to start and again to stop. The movie is Hi Resolution so it takes a long time to video the ride. If your ride is 4 minutes long you can figure on about a 5 to 6 hour videos session. No sound either because it takes the movie one frame at a time. The results are worth the wait.

Cool. It looks like a cute ride. Do you have the Soaked and Wild expansion packs? Have you tried downloading custom scenery yet? And there is always the Flying Camera program hidden in RCT3 that is a pain to figure out, but once you do results in some amazing videos. I have done 5 Parks so far using that Flying Camera program and have made them available to anyone who asks on two DVD's. I have a thread about them here on this thread that explains what's on them and how to get them. Check it out.

Yes I do have the two expansion packs. I bought the Platinum that came with all three games.

I would like to have custom scenery, but I tried using that French Guy's Pirates of the Caribbean and Disney scenery, but everytime I click on it... It kicks me out of the game.

I don't know how to program it so it doesn't do that.

Sorry, it is CTL+SHIFT+F11 to start the recording and then to stop it at the end of the ride. I don't know why I said Space Bar.

I have tons of Disney Custom Scenery and it works just fine, but then I have the original game only and it is patched with all kinds of stuff to correct many of the problems from the early game. I don't know why it wouldn't work. You do know that WinZip will create the necessary folders without you having to do a thing. Custom Scenery and Wall files end with the extension .OVL. If there is a txt file or JPG file do not extract them unless the TXT files tells you to place the JPG file in MyDocuments/MyPictures/RCT3. Take all the OVL files and extract them to C:/programfiles/atari/rct3/style/themed. It should create the necessary files and folders as it extracts the files. Make sure only .ovl files go into the Style/Themed folder, anything else will cause problems. The rides have a different extension and you would just put them in the rides folder. Parks and Scenarios go into MyDocuments/RCT then the appropriate sub folder. You will find RCT3 folders also in MyPictures and MyMusic folders. You should always do this when the game in NOT running. The more you add the longer it will take for the game to load as it's having to identify all the new custom stuff. The more you add stuff to a park, no matter how powerful your computer is, it will start to slow down and the smoothness will become jerkier and jerkier the more you add. It's not your system if you have a good P4 processor and graphic card, it's the graphic handler that Frontier used in RCT3. Atari wanted the game out before Christmas and so Frontier did have enough time to complete a lot of things they wanted to add. The Graphic Handler was cobbled together and they never had time to make a better one when the lawsuit by Chris Sawyer against Atari for non payment of Royalties stopped the game cold. No more extension packs and no more game period. Chris has already said he is done with Roller Coaster Tycoon and will not make any more versions. So we depend on the Custom Scenery and Custom Ride guys to keep us going in our addiction. You should also know that Monorail Man who created this very board for Mice Chat and keeps it going was a Beta Tester for RCT3, Soaked and Wild. He knows more about this game than any of us do. looks like a cool ride! I have never really seen a ride themed to a underwater tpye theme... it looks good so far!

It's really a shame that You Tube degrades these Hi Res movies so much. It looks like a fun, long ride, but the detail just doesn't come through in those You Tube videos. What do you plan to do with the Park? Do you make movies with Movie Maker? Or Nero? And then make a DVD? Or upload the Park somewhere where we can download it?

I just make rides and not actual parks. I do use Windows Movie Maker and it really is a shame that You Tube can't have Higher Resolution...

The themeing isn't all that great, but it is my first ride and I know I will be adding more to it... 4 minutes is pretty long for a roller coaster, eh? lol

4 minutes is incredible for a coaster ride, but I wish more real rides where that long. Standing in line for 30 or more minutes for a 2 - 3 minute ride is pretty rediculas. After you tweak it for more stuff etc, are you going to add music/sound effects? Then you can burn a DVD to send to people, if you have a way to do that. I use both Movie Maker (for the intial editing and sound track) then use the rendered version in Nero Vision to add better titles, up to 2 more tracks with sound effects and then burn the DVD.

I'm still updating the ride etc. to make it make it more under wateresque... I'm thinking of putting some Atlantic ruins just to make it more... I don't know, lol.

I'm thinking of building another ride... What do you guys think?
