It finally happened.....

My RCT3 game finally crashed.... I was working on a park when the graphics started going haywire (the game was going slow as well) It looked as if I was in some sort of hyper space as all the scenery started warping and spinning.... I'm not sure what has become of the parks, but the game wont start back up... Everytime I start up the game now my computer actually restarts itself... so for the time being, I can no longer mess around with RCT3..... so for those of you that I was building parks for... temporarily halted.... if not cancelled.... well have to see.

Does your previously saved version have the same problem?

I opened up several parks before the graphics completely went out, and they all had the same problem... My previously saved games had the same issue, it only started happening yesterday.

Soooo. Did you get it to reboot and play, or not? There are some really strange things about RCT3 that show up from out of nowhere once in awhile. I thought I had experienced them all, but never anything like this. That is just so weird. I know what you feel like though. I wish you well.

Re: It finally happened.....

Your graphics card could be outdated, or It could be barely enough for the game, but glitches after long term use, it might not have been made to play newer games. If its a newer one (or if you have a newer computer, it probably has a better graphics card) then the game is probably old and used. Try reinstalling if you didn't already.

This is what it needs for the graphics at the very least:

32MB video card with hardware T&L (Such as nVidia GeForce2 or any ATI Radeon)

Re: It finally happened.....

You can barely boot the game with a 32 Meg card. It takes a 128 Megger at least to build a park without it coming to a screeching halt. Hardware T&L is a requirement regardless of Vmemory.

Re: It finally happened.....

yes folks, I got my game working again... most of the files were saved.. so I did not loose many of my parks, luckily it kept two of my main parks, and those are the Universal park and the new Disney park.

I havn't done much with it since I got it working again...

Re: It finally happened.....

Cool. I am glad you managed to save yours. I can't even install the game on this intrim computer it's just not got any power. But in checking things on the one drive that I managed to save all the Parks and Custom Scenaries are there. But I have a feeling all the custom scenery which is located in the program area has been lost. I hope you can continue working on your RCT3 parks but I know you are busy working on your big backyard water show, so we can wait. Still no DVD yesterday. Maybe tomorrow when I talk to the mailman I will find out if he has been holding it for me.
