Shamu Stadium Closing Temporarily in Orlando/"Not because of Blackfish"

I hope this link link works. It's only until the spring and doesn't have anything to do with "Blackfish," according to Seaworld:

SeaWorld Orlando closing Shamu stadium until Spring 2014, “Blackfish” documentary not noted as cause of show changes | Inside the Magic

Wild orcas are dying out due to plastics being dumped/flushed into the ocean. They may go extinct in our lifetime.

Sea World may be their lifeline to avoid extinction.

I would love to have an intellectual debate with someone from the opposition who is willing to be respectful and intelligent, but perhaps I will look elsewhere.

Absolutely 100% untrue. Please cite your source for your claim.

This make me question your credibility.

Sea World and all the other parks as they stand right now could never hope to keep the orca population alive if the wild stocks were ever critically endangered (orca as a species are not endangered - only population of Southern Residents in Washington State fits that bill currently). By definition keeping a captive population relies of having enough genetic diversity to keep the population going in the long term. Up until the Russian captures a few moths ago OVER HALF of the orca in captivity were related in some way or other to a single whale, Tilikum, and many more are related to Katina. Without further captures (god willing there aren't any more but i am not holding my breath) the captive population has one maybe two generations more before inbreeding is inevitable
Sea World or any park be the life line for the world wide orca population is laughable at best.

But this topic is about Sea World Orlando closing down their show pool at Shamu Stadium early. Somehow I tend to doubt routine maintenance would shut down the main pool when it never has before that I know of. I have to wonder if they might be trying to install a rising floor into the show pool the same way they have it in the med pool (and if memory serves now in the Shamu close up as well). I don't know, just a thought.

I think maybe they are installing the nasa floor that is in the dinning experience. That takes some time to install. The next few months would be a good time to do it.
    Yes, it is fast....

They can't install the rising floor in the Show Pool because of the shape of the pool. It's impossible.

I've heard they're just repainting the pools and replacing the glass panels.
