Imperial Palace? NO WAY. There are enough of the real Imperial Palaces in China, why build something you can see for free in another place? I don't think the park icon has to be a castle anyways.

i don't know i think the visual elements of the film are very interesting and could be made to work. I would not consider having the original characters replaced with Tim Burtons vision but the overall look of Wonderland is amazing. I would really like to see the Shanghai park break the Magic Kingdom Formula. Something that has all the elements of the MK's but with a completely different approach
oh and i have to agree with Hkdlfan, i would not like to see an imperial Palace as an icon.

no, cause I want that for the park in my head almost ready for australia. I think it should be a new desgin I don't really care who gets the castel I just don't want one like DLR that should of been just for Walt's but its not so I will have to deal. Mulan's would be interesting but as I recall china banned it for awhile so its highly unlikely.
I think that Beauty and the Beast would be amazing, I've wanted one for ages xD
For the Beauty and the Beast Castle they could make it on a slight hill like Paris' but bigger. Waterfalls, rocks, and roses could tumble down a hill on the left. With a ratunda with a fancy dinner show and excelent food presented by Lumiere himself. The rotunda could be sitting on the 2nd floor of the hill on the left!
I would love to see the castle transform itself, like it did in the movie. I don't think they should duplicate any more castles. But, I think they will continue to do so to cut costs.
I'd be happy with either:
Snow White
Beast
or Ariel's castle
one hundred and one
How cool would it be to see Triton's Palace as the main castle.
btw I second the Queen of Hearts Castle from Burton's AIW. The design was phenomenal.

Yes! i bothers me the Sleeping Beauty has so many castles. I mean, does she really need that many vacation homes? All she does is sleep anyways.
I like the idea of Ariel's castle the best. It is very beautiful and magical, totally unrelated to history. It would be unique to the park.
I agree that making a version of Mulan's Imperial Palace would not be a good idea. If I wanted to see the Imperial Palace, I would travel to Beijing not Shanghai.

Speaking of Beauty and the Beast Castle, I designed a castle for B&TB in a mock theme park proposal I created for the Imagineer forum on WDWMagic a few years ago, which I also posted here on MiceChat:
This is modeled largely after Sleeping Beauty Castle at Disneyland Paris, but with many features and designs taken from the 1991 animated movie, such as domed ballroom on the left-hand side.
The color scheme is basically the same as DLP's Castle, as well being as more fairytale-ish/unreal looking like DLP's Castle is compared to the other Disney theme park castles! I enclosed a photo below for a comparision:

What's this Repunzel business about?? I'm confused. There isn't a Disney animated feature with Repunzel in it. I, for once, think us guys should finally be represented for a change with the new castle and have it be King Arthur's Castle from "The Sword in the Stone" or King Richard's Castle from "Robin Hood"!!![]()
