This is also on the official Disney Parks Blog. The new resort will include a unique Chinese culture infused Shanghai Disneyland. Expect a distinct array of recreational, entertainment and dining offerings, as well as two imacuately themed hotels, and totally cool parking and transportation hubs.
The model allows for a closer look at the Enchanted Storybook Castle, including an embedded video. This is also on the official Disney Parks Blog. The green space is in the middle of the new park, and covers an 11-acre spread - even though it does not appear that big on the model.![]()
To Boldly Go Where No MiceChatter Has Gone Before!
It's missing about two billion people in the model.
Hope we see this and a new TL model at the D23 expo this year
Is it the angle or does the hub seem off center?
We were sent over there with the message that only we would defend Disney quality.. We learnt quickly that the Japanese culture speaks to a level of quality that is hard to comprehend. They were all unbelievably skilled and willing to do the right thing.Bringing the Love since January 10, 2011

I hope they still keep Victorian as the main element of the park![]()
This made me realize what a smart idea this was. You can see right in the centre where basically everyone will rush to take a picture - but - it's also completely out of the way of any main traffic arteries. Kind of gets rid of people stopping in the middle of Main Street to take photos!
The area is also fantastically designed to deal with parades.
You have to plan for pushing and shoving in Shanghai...

I both like it and hate it.
It looks like a central plaza (hub) more than a part of Fantasyland (gardens) wich it is. But it also looks alot like Tivoli Gardens. Tivoli Gardens main area is just like this... kind of. I hope the good feeling of being in a nice place is something Disney has been able to duplicate this time.
The main area of Fantasyland will be behind the castle. It´s almost as there will be two Fantasylands. I think I prefer a central plaza without rides and ALOT smaller.
But the castle... one castle for all the pricesses... ...uh. I hope Jasmine likes this western mansion styled castle... and it will be wierd to find Ariel with fins and all in a castle above water.

ORWEN: I wish they would have built a castle for Rapunzel like they were originally saying they would. A one size fits all princesses castle just doesn't do it for me. It has no identity. You don't know who really lives there. And I just can't see Belle sleeping right across the hall from Snow White or Ariel having a slumber party with Aurora at the last minute. I mean, what would Prince Eric and Prince Phillip have to say about that???
ORGOCH: Didn't ya know? Prince Generic's been havin' a secret love affair goin' on with Prince Filler-up fer some time, now. So neither one a those dude cares if their women goes off ta have a private slumber party!!
