If your in LA, both KTLA (Channel 5) and FOX (Channel 11) will have reports and video of the ride this morning. I've heard that FOX already showed some at 6:30.

The President is on right now, so I wouldn't expect to see anything until at least the 8:00 hour.

The theming is much, much better than I was expecting!

I can't wait to ride it next week! Fire on rides is always a great thing (except for the ultra toned down fire on Indy).

This looks like it could end up being my 3rd favorite ride at the park behind Tatsu and X2.

Re: Terminator Coaster is Going Vertical!

We got 19 rides in last night, and we still wanted more.
The preshow is brilliant, it does a great job of setting up the ride, and there's a ton of detail. The ride itself- easily the best wooden coaster in California, and it gets even better at night. Definitely ride this.

I'll post more, including some pics later today.

That is FANTASTIC news Matt. CA needs a great wooden coaster! I'm looking forward to trying it out for myself.

One question, how does a wooden coaster fit in with the Terminator theme?

The Resistance is hiding out in an old, abandoned theme park?

The machines have gone through and destroyed SFMM, and set up their own stuff, including a T-600 factory. But then the Resistance cleaned them out and built a 'safe house' bunker inside. Unfortunately for us, the machines pick the very moment that we're in the pre-show room to begin making their assault, and the factory starts up again, etc. Our only hope is to be 'rescued' out via the old 'escape train' that's somehow still operating.

It's one of those themes that rescues you out of where you are, only to return you right back to the same point. Can't really hold too much against SFMM for that as similar non-sequiter plots are seen in countless Disney rides (Indiana Jones, Stitch's Great Escape, etc), and other themed attractions.

The important part here is that SFMM has made its best attempt at themeing in its history, and possibly in the entire 48 year history of Six Flags with this coaster. And if that wasn't enough, this is a REALLY REALLY fun coaster! Not that the bar's really high, but Terminator's easily the best wooden coaster in California.

So come out and ride! Terminator is great fun, and isn't that what matters most?

The preshow buildings are air conditioned nicely, too.
