Road Runner Express opens at Six Flags Magic Mountain

Six Flags Magic Mountain was kind enough to invite us to the opening of their 17th coaster "Road Runner Express". The ride is located between Bugs Bunny World and Whistlestop Depot and is a great addition to the park.

Ride Station. The Desert Southwest theme of the Road Runner cartoons is well represented here.


The theme is well done throughout the ride area




The theming in the station is subtle and playful, just what you would expect from "Acme".

I think Disney needs to have a coaster like this, perhaps naming it after an obscure character from a cancelled cartoon?

Since the coaster trains are themed to shoes (this coaster was moved from the New Orleans park) applicable theming has been added to the trains, and it works.


The obligatory ride safety information. The ride has a 36" height requirement which makes it fun for kids and adults!!

Looks a lot like Gadget's layout. Good theming though considering it's Six Flags.

It is Gadget's layout. This is a very, very common "off the shelf" coaster better known as a Vekoma Roller Skater. You find it at quite a few theme parks. I'm surprised the "If Six Flags ran Disneyland" thread isn't all over this.

WHAT always sucks to me is the theme is good but if they only put a little more money into it then there rides could look Fantastic but its better theme than about 90% of the other rides....
