Monster Plantation/Monster Mansion video, Six Flags Over Georgia

I only rode this ride in original 'Monster Plantation' format, but in 2008, was upgraded and refurbished. Quite an enjoyable ride, if not as sophisticated overall as Disney dark rides. The lighting, effects, sound design and many of the figures inside were greatly upgraded in the 2009 refurb.

Sally Corporation bid to do Monster Mansion, but Six Flags chose to have The Goddard Group do it instead. Gary Goddard did Monster Plantation with his prior company Landmark Entertainment.

I still think the fog projection is better executed and utilized on Monster Mansion than it is on Pirates of the Caribbean at the Magic Kingdom.

I really like both versions. Hope someone at Knott's reads this thread and is inspired by it.

Agreed, Dusty. Rides don't have to be ultra-modern and sophisticated to garner a healthy audience.
