When I saw this I was deeply saddened. I realize Camp Snoopy is only like 15 years old and it's not like Disneyland losing Mickey and friends, but I have such fond memories of it.

I realize the park isn't going anywhere, it's in the middle of the mall of america afterall, but still for it to be anything other than Camp Snoopy just seems so wrong. I was there on a contractors night before it ever opened that was open to families of people who worked on designing and building the mall itself, and had such great memories. All the more reason for me to dislike Cedar Fair.

Does Cedar Fair own Knotts? Also... does Knotts Berry Farm still have Peanuts as its Characters?

Cedar Fair, L.P. owns Cedar Point, Knott's and other parks.

And you can find Peanuts characters at all of its parks. Cedar Fair got the rights for the Peanuts characters when it bought Knott's. In Japan, Universal Studios has the rights to the Peanuts Characters.

Why? Knott's was involved with the building of Camp Snoopy in the MOA. Cedar Fair took over the management of the park when it bought Knott's.

MOA decided to not renew the management contract, and manage it itself.

So if you want to dislike some folks, then it looks like your anger should be pointed to MOA, who knew that they could lose the Peanuts characters when they terminated the contract with Cedar Fair.

I dont know much about the MOA but wow, that does sound sucky. Too bad because of Schultz history in that area. How can the new Park at MOA live up to the same thing?? I haven't been but now I'm curious to see it.

I highly doubt it. If Disney ever did anything like that, they would not only want to controll the park but the entire mall as well. Disney only likes to do what Disneys does. They don't take requirments or orders from anyone.

The park is still going to run, it's just not going to be run under the name "Camp Snoopy" anymore.

I really don't have anything against Cedar Fair actually, I just needed to vent. As for Disney taking over the park, I don't see it happening, but is fun to speculate.

I just thought I'd clarify, the park itself isn't being removed. The rides will all still be there, well almost all, the inflatible Snoopy bounce house will be taken out. Just the Peanuts theme is leaving the park.
