I think MM uses the term "Annual Passholders" instead. Please make a note of it. Thank you.

Too Bad Six Flags doesn't have Annual Passholders...

I think the term "Season PassHolders" might be what you were thinking

Also, I think the Sheriff's Substation at the park entrance has been helping

I've always thought the gang problem at SFMM was blown way out of proportion.

I've been going to the park multiple times per year since the early 80's and I've never had a problem.

The biggest issues I ever saw was when New Kids on the Block were playing and there were 10,000 pre-teen girls trying to get in to see them.

My understanding it was one or two well publicised incendences over a decade ago... So far no one has been able to provide any documentation for any recent events... If you hear of one, post it...

That is correct, IMHO. There we two event which took place over a decade ago. There was one in April of 2005 as well. THERE IS NO GANG PROBLEM. These events did not involve or injur or even effect the experience of other park guests. The regular guests were not involved, and so there is nothing to worry about. Yes, there is a sheriff sub-station, and there is a large presents in the park. This thread was intended for discussing positive changes taking place in the park. Lets get back on track.

^ I don't know if i'd go THAT far. There are Gangs that come to Magic Mountain. But there are gangs that go to Disneyland, The Mall, the Movies, Mini-Golf, the park, etc.

Again, there were a few incidents that have been blown WAY out of proportion and people keep bringing them up.

But look at the damage those events have on the reputation of the park. It's now known as being a lower class theme park infested with gangs, trash and thrill rides. Not exactly a family friendly place. This has all happen since six flags bought the place and got rid of the Wizard and trolls. The obvious presence of a sheriffs substation tells everybody that goes there that this place has some problems. I know Disneyland has a substation too but at least it's hidden.

My wallet is a lot lighter after going through the gate so it's a lot easier to carry now. That's an improvement, right?

I wouldn't consider 2 gang fights in the park in one weekend minor by any means. When was the last time you saw Disneyland or Knotts have gang fights on both days Saturday and Sunday?

Yeah, and I have passed by a crying woman who was obviously a victim of a crime in DTD last time I was there...

I love how 11 security gaurds attended her.

I have a whole list of things that have happened in Disneyland that would scare the jujubies out of you...

In truth, you can get mugged anywhere... Why live in fear?

Well, much of the gang activity is just outside the gates, as they're not let into the park.
Good for them, since they can harass you while your wallet is still loaded.

    (All in good fun.)

I do recall a friend getting her purse snatched at Hurricane Harbor. Leave nothing of value unattended there.
