    Three Shot Outside Six Flags

    Full story at http://www.wsbtv.com/news/9468509/detail.html

COBB COUNTY -- A fight inside the Six Flags amusement park may have sparked a shooting just outside the park that left three people wounded.
Just another nail in the coffin for my aunt not renewing the Season's Pass. SFoG is pretty ghetto...but a shotting? Great.

Man, I love SFOG ... great park. I mean I guess it's a good thing it didn't happen in the park. Six Flags can't be held responsible for what idiots do after they leave their parks.

It's a good park (honestly I think after Goliath it became a great park ride wise) but if you want to talk operations it is horribly run. Getting multiple trains out is like pulling teeth and consistant dispatchs are rare. We've even seen them take over 30 minutes adding a train to Superman.

But with GASM, Superman, Goliath and Acrophobia you can't say they don't have great rides.

^ Don't forget GA Cyclone, Scorcher and Mindbender.

Acrophobia is without a doubt the scariest drop ride I've been on.

Then of course there is the genius of Monster Plantation.

No! Not a shotting!!! (sorry, couldn't help myself).

It's still sad. It's amazing that people could hate each other so much.

Will trade husband for Disneyland and DCA Pins!

Mindbender is okay, but that 1st loop can be brutal. The Cyclone the one time I rode it was rough rough rough, and I didn't feel the need to go on it again.
Scorcher...I don't really like Stand-Ups and the Scorcher made me see stars...didn't like that one.

    Can't beat Monster Plantation, no.

For Cyclone you have to sit in the 2nd to last car, back row of that car.

I don't really care for Stand-Up's either, but the Scorcher is my favorite one.

Hmm. I'd have to call Vortex (PCW) the best of the standups I've been on...but none are really fun or in my top 10.

^ Nope. I don't have any standups in my top 10 either ... I don't even think one would get up to 20.

I have been on 3 stand-ups (Vortex at Great America, Riddler's Revenge, and Mantis) none are near my favorites, but out of those three, the shortest of them (Vortex) is my favorite. Much more forces are felt. Not your typical "forceless" B & M coaster.

We didn't ride Vortex when we were at PGA last year ... next time we will. It was BEYOND packed the day we went.

It's funny that a thread about people getting shot has turned into a "coaster thread".

Shooting? That's so passť. SFMM had those years ago.

Re: Three Shot Outside Six Flags

Well, that's Six Flags for ya. Sad, but it seems to be the type of clientele that Six Flags attracts these days. I like the park itself, but the train operations are awful. One hour wait for Batman using a one-train operation?? 90-120 minutes for Superman with only one train running? That's absolutely ridiculous and unnecessary. Ride ops tend to move in one of two gears, slow and slower. And they wonder why Six Flags is losing money.
Warning: Portions of this attraction are intense and may not be appropriate for younger children.

Cool Re: Three Shot Outside Six Flags

    Stuff happens-anywhere:

"Vandals smuggled in spray paint and tagged several areas. Fights, some of them reportedly gang related, broke out throughout the park. Police arrested visitors by the van full."
Halloween, 1994, 1300 Harbor Blvd, Anaheim.
    (More Mouse Tales, page 168)

I seem to recall at least one parking lot shooting in the first book as well, but mine is loaned out so I can't confirm.

    Cheers.
