What with this work being scheduled for August, does anyone have any ideas as to what the hotel will be like condition wise, during September and in general for that matter?
Thank you,
Kristine

I wouldn't worry too much, you only have a 1/3 chance of getting the tower being worked on and even then Disney generally does a good job of not causing too much inconvenience during construction. Also, since that's not long after it's starting they probably won't have even got that far into the project by then.
The Mickey audience is not made up of people; it has no racial, national, political, religious or social differences or affiliations; the Mickey audience is made up of parts of people, of that deathless, precious, ageless, absolutely primitive remnant of something in every world-wracked human being which makes us play with children’s toys and laugh without self-consciousness at silly things, and sing in bathtubs, and dream and believe that our babies are uniquely beautiful. You know…the Mickey in us.

Glad I booked Paradise Pier.
You can get Paradise for $129 a night during September (not all weeks).
Even Grand CA went down a bit.
Disney Hotel is about $139
Hello Haunted Mansion Party, here I come in September!!!!! Can't Wait!!!!

I guess there is a $12 resort fee that gives you parking, paper, internet and local calls.
Resort fee is non-negotiable (even if you are flying in and not using parking)

-Al LutzTo that end I'd like the Internet community to join me in reminding the Disney company that "it all started with Walt." As you can see below we've created some T-shirts, plus a few simple graphics that you can copy and paste into your websites to let folks know how you feel.
D L,
The price for Dl. hotel sounds very good, as do the rates for the other properties.
Thank you for the post.

A great resource for info & reviews of the DL Hotel is TripAdvisor... over 450 reviews of the DLH by guests. Tips, photos, hotel restaurant reviews, the works.

Surprised nobody has posted this yet, but according to a press release on BluSkyDisney the Disneyland hotel will be renovated one tower at a time to be completed in 2012. I remember Al talking about the hotel ideas a while back. Looks like it is finally happening.Discuss.

Disney announces multi-phase Disneyland Hotel renovation beginning in August

Blue Sky says renovations will start in the Dream Tower. Which one is that. I have reservations for the first week of August. First trip to Disneyland for us.

The Dreams Tower is the Sierra Tower. Our favorite! We just spent last week there.
It is the one that faces DTD.
OldSchoolMickey,
I was afraid of that!! I thought that was the tower that everyone was telling me to request!!
Next suggestion?
Thanks
Boy I totally forgot about the DLH renovation project and have already booked my stay there for September during the D23 convention. Sure hope I wont be sorry, I have always loved staying there in the past.

No words, My tears won't make any room for more,
And it don't hurt, like anything I've ever felt before, this is
No broken heart,
No familiar scars,
This territory goes uncharted...
How do they do a renovation of this size and still keep the "dust" down?
I just redid my kitchen cabinets and the dust is all thru the house!![]()

We've stayed on property numerous times during various renovations and construction projects. In all of those times, we only had one incident occur and even though we were not physically harmed in any way, they comped us our entire four night stay. Our invoice was ZERO (and it included a few room service meals prior to the incident).
The fine folks at the DLH are a class-act and will do everything possible to make your stay an enjoyable one.
They've earned our business for may years to come...
