Cool Fun hotel for a young couple?

My boyfriend and I are going on our 2nd annual Disneyland trip this August. (I made it an annual thing after he took me to Disneyland for my first time last year. =( 21 years and no Disneyland? how sad is that?) Well, we stayed at the Sheraton Anaheim Hotel and we had no problems with the room, except the slow draining shower and no microwave. We had fun drinking cocktails and walking around the hotel premises to kill time the night we arrived. This year we want to try a different hotel along the same lines at the Sheraton (similar price range and quality). We want a hotel within a walking distance to the parks, we don't want to have to bother with shuttle service anymore and we're pretty fit, so our walking distance isn't at a kids pace. Any suggestions?

"Fun" is what you make of it! (yeah, I remember my early 20's!)

With your guidelines, I'd pick the Candy Cane Inn. Reasonably priced, clean rooms, a complimentary breakfast and certainly within walking distance.

You can always begin the fun at DTD and then stagger, I mean walk, back to the Candy Cane.

    Sounds like fun to me!

    Enjoy!

Search in this forum - there are a few threads about it.
    Good morning, son
    In twenty years from now
Maybe we'll both sit down and have a few beers
And I can tell you 'bout today
And how I picked you up and everything changed
    It was pain
    Sunny days and rain
I knew you'd feel the same things...

You all book early if you havent! I tried booking one next thrus. for my friend and her best friend all THREE DISNEY hotels were BOOKED! What a bummer it was for her birthday. So we've been calling EVERYDAY to double check to see if anyone has cancelled their reservations!

BTW- i had never really took a stroll around the original disneyland hotel its actually really pretty at night. Obvisously the ca grand is beautiful, but the original one was really pretty.I had no idea what it looked like around that place! Hope you find the perfect hotel for the two of you, have fun.

Me and my g/f stayed at the Annabella last summer. It has a fantastic bar, some places rate it a 4 star resort. It is also 15 mins away from Disneyland. My only problem was it had thin walls, so you'll have to keep your fun down.

That's what I ran into as well, they were booked solid except for suites. I had figured with this so-called "great recession" going on that they'd be hurting for hotel guests but I guess not.

My first choice is the Grand Californian, its charming with a great pool and you can walk right into DCA, but it can get pricey. Off the DLR site I like the Embassy Suites Hotel on Harbor. They have a happy hour with free wine and beer and buffet breakfast in the mornings that is pretty good. You can walk to the park from here or take a shuttle. The rooms are all large and very comfortable.

Oh yea and I almost forgot...Recession? what recession...Crowds around the park seem as large as always.
