Shuttle Bus - Operating How Late?

Just booked the Crowne Plaza for $45 using Priceline, thanks clinksalot!

I know Crowne Plaza uses a shuttle bus with the Hyatt, which I hope means it's frequent with few stops. My concern is how late does the shuttle operate? I like to stay in the parks until well after midnight.

The complimentary shuttle runs until after the Park closes (normal posted hours, not the extra hour for "your shopping convenience").

It does get crowded at or near closing, but they will not leave you stranded. They will send another bus if anyone is left waiting behind in the "white zone" (personal experience ). But ONLY if there are guests waiting AT the white zone. When it's busy, they might ask for a hotel key as proof of you being a hotel guest. Otherwise, they pretty much don't worry about it.

It picks up at the hotel every 30 minutes on the hour and the half hour. The bus leaves the Park every 20 and 50 after the hour. The driver will CLEARLY tell everyone what time the last bus will be picking guests up at the Park. You snooze, you lose!

The bus only stops at the Hyatt and the Crowne Plaza parking lot, so it is an easy run. During busy times, they run two buses.

If you want to stay "well after midnite" you might want to look into other alternatives...


Enjoy your stay! You got a great rate! When we Priceline, we hope for the Hyatt (and usually get it) but we have stayed at the C-P and it is a nice place. At that rate, I don't know why some folks insist on staying at some of those flea-bags on Harbor... (The Castle Inn, cough...cough, for example)

Just be THANKFUL that you don't have to rely on that lousy, smelly, over-crowded, forever-late and reckless ART system!

One small correction, the Shuttle bus now has THREE stops, Hyatt, Crowne Plaza and the new Sheraton Garden Grove, all at the corner of Harbor and Chapman.

And why do you call ART Reckless????

It is a large system, but for the MOST part runs fairly well.... Heck, the same company that runs the ART also runs the Disney shuttles from Pumbaa, AGW and Buzz Lightyear Parking Lots.

1. The last time that we stayed at the Hyatt in April, the bus only made one stop after leaving the Hyatt. The bench along the side of the hotel before you make the left back on to Harbor. Of course, things can change and since it is in the same area, it shouldn't add much to the ride.


2. Personal experience. From our recent memory as well as friends and family... One driver hopped a curb and almost hit a pedestrian WITH A STROLLER. Another one blew through a red light on Harbor and cut off a vehicle while making a lane change back into the right lane where he should have been in the first place. That was enough for us!


3. You mean like the one with the DCA logo on the side that BURNED DOWN TO THE GROUND a few months back???

Or the WDW Shuttle Bus news that had a "Not" a Major incident, but still, a lot of folks got hurt this week...

When you deal with a large group of people, occasionally things happen....

Argghh... looks like I'm going to get stranded on Harbor late at night and have to walk back to the hotel then.

Well, the driver won't hold you hostage until you tip him, but it is appreciated.

We always tip two dollars each way (and we just walk-on and walk-off).

Sadly, some folks find it necessary to beat the poor driver out of his tip even though he lugs their stroller onto (or under) the bus and then takes it off (or out) for them once they are at their destination.

Some folks just don't have any class...

Some updates: the shuttle's last run from DL is 12:50AM so there's plenty of time to linger on Main St. after the park closes. The shuttles mostly run on time, and sometimes when it's crowded are dedicated for just the Hyatt or Crowne Plaza so make sure to listen to the drivers before you board. During busy times, they are often standing room only so you might want to get there earlier.
