Will you do me a huge favor and post a review with maybe some pictures of this new hotel? I'm hoping one of these trips I will win it.

I was just there 10 days ago for 6 days. We love that hotel and won it on Priceline for $46 a night! (A steal for a 2 room suite with a fridge!) Wish I'd known you wanted photos, I'd have taken some. Hopefully my buddy DisneyBanks can get some for you! It's a nice place. We had no car, so we didn't pay the daily parking which is $12.00 a day. I found choosing the Garden Grove area was best to ensure Crowne Plaza, Marriott Suites or Hyatt.

The beds are SUPER cozy and the linens are crisp and white. The room was very clean and the living room was a fair size. There are 2 televisions, and, while I'm a night owl...hubby isn't, so, he'd fall asleep in the bedroom and I'd hang out in the living room and watch t.v.

Anyone know which other hotels (besides Embassy Suites and the above mentioned Anaheim Marriott Suites) offer suites as a standard deal? I'd love to have a separate space from my dad during our upcoming trip.

Re: How to use Priceline to your advantage in Anaheim

Back to the Crowne Plaza for us - not my favorite due to the parking situation. Just booked 12/28-1/2 for $59/night. Started at $38 and incremented $1 at a time using rebids. Went up to $64 on the 4* (guaranteed Hyatt) with no luck and turned back to the 3.5*'s. Would have gone back to the 4*'s a little higher if $60 didn't do it on the 3.5*'s.

Geez, that's the highest I've ever paid for the DLR area, I'm sure having to do with the NY week crowds. I know it's still a cheap room, but I've gotten spoiled getting the Crowne Plaza, Marriott Suites, Doubletree and Hilton all for under $50 this past year!

On Priceline? Ouch. Like I said, I've really gotten spoiled.

This is our first time to DLR during the Christmas/NY holiday. Oh gosh, there's so much to pack for this trip tomorrow when you've got two little ones in tow... Guess I better stop stalling.

Happy New Years all! I'm sure I'll see some of you this week!

Re: How to use Priceline to your advantage in Anaheim

Back from our trip. We opted for the DLR shuttle rather than hassle with parking which was a good call with all the crowds last week. Arrived at 1:30am after a late start from home and had to put up with a King+pullout for one night. That wouldn't have been so bad except for the high schoolers having a party across the hall keeping us up. Next morning we packed up and requested a room with two beds and they moved our bags for us while we were at the park. Although I requested a fridge beforehand and was told it would be a $10/night charge, it didn't show up on my bill. Also had one $12 resort fee waived due to the first night's room. Have to admit, though parking is still a pain there I'm warming to the CP.

Re: How to use Priceline to your advantage in Anaheim

Glad you made it back in one piece M&M Daddy! I am nervous about using priceline for my trip in Feb. because of the no-backing-out-thing and not knowing where you are staying. Although I am thinking about just making an advanced purchase from the website...

Anyone have some advice for me?

Yeah, the Crowne Plaza needs to have reserved parking for hotel guests. They have a LOT of weddings and things there and most of those people leave. I also think their employees take a l ot of the closer spots, which is absolutely ridiculous.

These tips are still not working for me. I'll start at $50 and it goes up to $120. I lower the stars and go for $55 and it brings it to $170. Help?

Not sure if you are doing the name your own price for Priceline or not. I would highly recommend reading all of the tips provided at biddingfortravel.com before bidding.

Hotel FAQ - Hotels - Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) - BiddingForTravel.com - Message Board - Yuku

Basically most of us look at the biddingfortravel website before we begin a new bid just to see what others are getting hotels for in the area we want. Then we go to Priceline and choose name your own price and put in the dates, area, star level and what price we are willing to pay. After reading the above FAQ you should have a complete understanding of how it works and how the free rebids work.
